TO the mods reading this: Just to be carefull I ran this idea by Bean Bandit and got his okay to post this.

Okay here's the question: What kink of MOD would you be?
1. what kind of rules would you make and how would you enforce them?
2. What you do when some one breaks them?
3. How would you use your power to help the website?

This just poped into my head while I was reading the thread Get to know the mods! Oh and try to keep the responses clean Poeple!:D

Having to stay on topic:
1. The rules of the forum are already made, so that would be the framework, would it not? Although adding a rule or two over time to keep the growing community in line would probably occur.
2. First, give a verbal warning and maybe so bad rep, after a second infraction, warn them.
3. Enforcing the rules. That is what is mod does afterall.

I would be a brutally honest mod.

1: I'd enforce the existing rules.
2: Verbal warn, bad rep/ warn, whatever follows.
3: Try and improve the intellgence of idiots, namely people who can't use proper grammar.

I'd be a tough, yet sweet and friendly mod (basically, I'd be the same as I am now, but with Mod-powers). There are enough rules, as it is, so I see no reason to add more (unless something messed-up happens, that more rules would be needed). I'd help users and enforce the rules, but I wouldn't stop having fun with my favorite users (that doesn't mean that I would play favorites, because I wouldn't).

1. Don't about making new rules but I would doo my best to enforce the current ones.

I am mod on 6 other forum.

1. The usual basic rules... (no abusing, spam, disturbing post, no porn, on topic posts... and i could name some more)

2. Its up to the rulebraker, and to which of the rules he/she has broken. (I mean how he has handled the people sofar, and how serius is the problem what he did) It can go from litle scold, to an acount termination...

3. Making the people to obey the rules is also helping the admin to do hes work, and i always opend for lil custom work... (new sig, avatar, or if the boss *admin* asking for something i try to do it in the best posible way)

To give all together, a mod muss know what punishment he/she mus give out, mus try to be human not robot. A mod is the right and left hand of the WebMaster, so he/she is resposible to make order on the site... And it is not bad if he/she is friendly, helpfull... and i could say some more good atitude.
But what hand can give, muss also be able to take away.
What i mean is, that he/she mus be able to do the hard part of the job, giving out the punishments to the people who deserve it.

PS.: I dont have any problem whit the site Mods or Admins or webMaster, i just have my own view from mod work.

1.I would stick with the rules that the Founder/Administrator makes.
2.Give a first warning.Second warning.Then would i ask permission from the Administrator to ban him/her.(Depending on the situation)
3.Advertise the site,Help the community grow(Probably has the same meaning as the first one),And help in other ways.

I'd be an intelligent mod but also very understandable. I would definately have a rule on no taunting other users to a certain degree, since I have seen rudeness very often. I would have a fair system of rules and warnings, and I would not behave like a dictator. How I can easily describe this: I'm already an admin on another site.

- Wouldn't create anything new except perhaps crack down on ppl who spek lik dis from da hood lolz

- First time, warning. Second time, councelling and probabation (you're explained your wrong and watched closely for a month) third time you're finished.

- Perhaps clean it up a bit, get rid of some of the immaturity. That's really all that needs to be done, a little bit of enforcing.

1)I would inforce the rules that are present now.

2)Verbal warning, Bad rep, if the problem persists, warning possibly level 5 if they don't listen.

3) Make sure their is nothing innapropriate, no pointless spam, and make sere the topics are useful.

If I ran a forum I would set it up this way.

I would have a quarantine forum, where everyone can post. If they behave, and can spell I would let them out to post in the other forums, otherwise I'd ban them permanently.

On my forum I just have a place where you can disobey any of the rules(except two, one of which is impossible to disobey because of the word filter). We call it the alley, and it's abused just as much as our misc. forum ^^; but at least they don't spam anywhere else.

I would make them jump through a ring of fire for hours until they couldn't jump through it anymore... and they just jumped onto it... ...wait a few minutes... ... then I would have a nice BBQ and invite some friends ;)

I would ban stupid anoying people... that not only helps the site, but it makes everyone happy.

What kind of MOD would you be?
An observer. I would probably watch most people talk then interact myself so if a problem occurs I can analyze people's attitude and come up with the best decision wether it be ban, warn, or if I should even interject.

1. What kind of rules would you make and how would you enforce them?
Rules I would enforce would only go as far as insulting someone for no reason. If someone states a very resonable post and then calls the dude a moron, I probably wouldn't care. But if someone said that someone was a friggin' idiot without stating why, then my enforcement would just go as far as making them explain why they think that way.

2. What you do when someone breaks them?
Listen to why they had to do what they did, hear their opinion why they shouldn't be warned, etc. Discuss with some other Mods and get their input, then if I decide it is grounds for something, then enforce it.

3. How would you use your power to help the website?
Probably encourage people to get involved if there are special events or contests.
