Well I believe that Final FAntasy IX is the best of the series due to several reasons. Which include: You marry the princess who then becomes Queen, Vivi marries a s/he Named Quina, Amarant just kicks everyones butt, Eiko can summon anything that Garnet/Dagger cannot plus she has a moogle named Mog in her clothes at all times until it comes out to protect her and turns itself into an eidilon, I own three copies of it, the card game is still the best out of all the games, but can only be rivaled by the coin game in Final FantasyX-2, The chocobos mini games far outway that of any of the chocobo mini games in any of the other Final Fantasy's, and last but not least, The characters aren't even human unlike the rest of the Final Fantasy's.

I can't understand how I'm the only person who voted for ff four. Cecil whips the living hell out of cloud, tidus and squal want to know why? He isn't a whiney ***** about everything. And he isn't a detached emo freak, he actually cares about the people around him.

It's a fanatstic game, with a great tale of redemption in it. But it's remarkable to see just how far square has fallen from grace. 15 years ago they made excellent games with fleshed out characters and interesting plots, and awesome classical scores. Now they make games full of metro sexuals and J pop. I could say final fanatsy seven was the moment final fanatsy totally jumped the shark. But that's a lie, that honor goes to 8, a game with no redeaming qualities what-so-ever. Seven was an ok game, it was ugly as sin and had a translation job that would make snk blush. But it's ok all in all, B- stuff. Plus I did like barret and cid, tifa and red13 were alright too. The only problem is they look and talk cool but are very shallow characters. I wanted to choke cloud out every time he *****ed and moaned about something.

Final Fantasy 8 was the best for me, mainly because of the characters. I am like rinoa and I like Squall....a lot.
Plus you have a lot of free will, like using Balamb Garden to fly/surf/float or whatever else you want to call it all over the map. Training is also a very fun asspect in the game. I love training, and it was fun to summon and kill everything on the feild in one big blow. (Go Squall!) And, I liked the CG scenes. wOOt for the ballroom scene! :P

Also Final Fantasy Mystic Quest did not actually "COME" to America. It was released in America first. Afterward it came out in Japan renamed "Final Fantasy: USA"... Basically Japanese people made it for Americans thinking that they were too stupid to play a more complicated RPG and made them Mystic Quest; an EXTEREMELY simple RPG.

In a just world how can there be 3.8 million Final Fantasy links to ONE Civilization related one??? I mean HOW??? Sure 6 and 7 were good, 5 was OK but the rest sucked! I mean, god, grow some opposable thumbs and play something different! I don't care if you all start playing Nintendogs and Barbie Horse Adventure for christsakes, just play SOMETHING else!!!

And If Chocobo Dungeon and Chocobo Racing aren't FF games neither are FF:T, FF:TA or X-2, or the half dozen "FF7" games they are coming out with. None of those games are mainline stories, but all happen in the same theoretical “universe”.

I just really like Final Fantasy 9, I love eiko, shes so cute, it just has a bit better graphics then Final Fantasy 7, but I really just like all the Final Fantasys, except, I haven't played many, only 7... but I still like 9. ^.^;

I like Seven, my favorite character from the game Final Fantasy 7, would have to be Sephiroth, Vicent, and Cloud, I just like Sephiroth alot better, with you could use him in battle, I really wish you didn't have to kill him in the end to beat the game, he is the best character off of Final Fantasy 7, I drew him a couple times, but they're at my school, I drew them there, I also drew one of Cloud, it was fun, I had nothing to do, Sephiroth is chasing Cloud with his sword out, and Cloud is running for his life, like a scared little chicken, then I have one with Sephiroth in chibi version, its really cute, it only took me three minutes, but yeah, whatever, I voted for Final Fantasy 7. ^^;

I have no desire to get into yet another flame war with you, suffice to say I have played through and beaten final fantasy seven. So I have every right to complain about it, if you don't like it tough. I can credit FF 7 with a few things, good overall pacing fast battle system, materia added an extra layer of strategy to what were pretty easy battles. But I can not say it had a good plot, it didn't.

So I have every right to complain about it, if you don't like it tough. I've already started filling up some of the plot holes by reading the book. It explains alot of the parts of the story that didn't make too much sense, or didn't have any purpose at all.

And I might also add that the other FFVII games that are out/are coming out deepen FFVII's plot even more, so just playing FFVII isn't really enough. FFVII isn't just one game anymore, it's several games now.

And that really doesn't help the fact that final fanatsy seven the game has many plot holes, I could read and play all the expanded universe but I shouldn't have to, and I really have no desire to as well.

Here I'll give an example, star wars episode 2 has a terrible plot with murky charcters and a metric ton of plot holes. The same applys to final fanatsy 7.As you say, but it doesn't change the fact that Ep:2 is still a tiny spec of what Star Wars is really about.

And most of FFVII's plot holes can be figured out with common sense as long as you've actually played thru the entire game and didn't miss some important side stories(The secret cinema, some flashbacks, and side stories). Name some of the plotholes you've noticed in FFVII and I'd bet that most of them have been answered in FFVII, but you've just overlooked, missed, misunderstood, or didn't understand that part of it at all.

And the plotholes that FFVII didn't answer were answered in the Omega. Omega listed parts of the story that weren't able to be added and/or scrapped.

And Sword, you can search for it on froogle if you want to buy, or try to find translated bits and pieces online.

-Sephoroth is supposed to be a great warrior yet he get droped in one slice by a newbie recuit like cloud/zach? Please, I don't think so.

-Sephoroth says his mother was jenova, but wasn't the janova sephoroths mother vincents wife or something equally retarded like that.

-Sephoroths amazing plan is to crash a metor in to earth and through janova and this metoe become a god somehow. That's remarkably assinine.

My next complaint is geared towards how contrived the plot was not really a hole.

-Sephoroth is dead, it's just janova imitating him. How does this matter at all?

-The cloud and zach clone thing is just astoundinly stupid and pointless.

-Shinra wasted all that time cloning a fighter who got beaten very easily by a new recruit. Why?

You see what I'm getting at a good plot doesn't have this many problems, for the same reason ep2 plot sucked balls seven does as well. To many holes and contrived plot lines. Even if ep2 was only part of the clone wars saga it was far to murky to be considered a good plot, same goes for seven.

He was Cloud the entire time. Cloud was never a clone. And the word clone didn't necessarilly mean the clone you're thinking of. After the incident in Nibelhiem both Cloud and Zack were being experimented on by Hojo to create a "clone" of Sephiroth by injecting Jenova cells into them. Cloud had a huge effect on them but they didn't effect Zack at all. They escaped after some time and traveled toward Midgar where at some point Zack died and Cloud being all wierd in the head mistakingly used some of his memories of Zack's into his own life. Example: Being in SOLDIER


-Sephoroth is supposed to be a great warrior yet he get droped in one slice by a newbie recuit like cloud/zach? Please, I don't think so. Zack wasn't a newbie, he was first class SOLDIER.
And keep in mind it's an RPG, levels and such shouldn't really matter when it comes to story. "zOMG Cloud was lvl1 and Sephiorth lvl50 and Cloud killed him." Also remember Sephiroth hadn't slept in several days from reading at the bottom of ShinRa mansion. And Cloud stabbed him while partly off-gaurd.



-Sephoroth says his mother was jenova, but wasn't the janova sephoroths mother vincents wife or something equally retarded like that.He says his mother is Jenova because he was the first ever to be born with Jenova cells in his body. SO he basically IS Jenova's son. In Advent Children, the others with Jenova cells in them also see Jenova as thier mother. And It wasn't Vincents wife. Vincent liked her(Name was Lucrecia btw), and she chose her work above Vincent(She was a scientist and Vincent was a Turk.)... She gave birth to Sephiroth so she's his REAL. But Jenova could still be considered his mother, in a way.


-Sephoroths amazing plan is to crash a metor in to earth and through janova and this metoe become a god somehow. That's remarkably assinine.

My next complaint is geared towards how contrived the plot was not really a hole. He planned on causing a wound on the planet that would be really huge. The planet uses the lifestream to heal the planets wounds. He planned on absorbing the lifestream that went to the wound. He took this way of thinking from Jenova. Jenova is actually a parasite that takes the energy from one planet until theres none left and then travel to another planet to repeat the same process.



-Sephoroth is dead, it's just janova imitating him. How does this matter at all? Sephiroth died, but it wasn't Jenova imitating him. He was recreated atop of N. Crater. You can see that near the end of the game where Cloud gives him the Black materia. He had no legs. He was only partially finished. Thats the reason why his "godly" forms didn't have legs. It was incomplete.


-The cloud and zach clone thing is just astoundinly stupid and pointless.Again they weren't clones. They were injected with J-cells to try and recreate another Sephiroth.


-Shinra wasted all that time cloning a fighter who got beaten very easily by a new recruit. Why? Again, read my first explination. He wasn't at his top form at that point. And Cloud and Zack weren't exactly weak. They were both infused with mako at that point.


As I see it, the plotholes you were thnking about were completely different than the ones I was. The ones I was thinking about went alot deeper than Cloud being a clone, and why Sephiroth was weak.

It's been six years since I played the game honestly I'm surprised I could remember as much as I did about the game since I have actually tried to forget. And you like any matrix fan boy don't seem to realize just because the plot makes sense if you piece it together doesn't make it any less moronic. I set out and did what I wanted, to prove that there weren't as many plot holes as you originally thought.

FF7 was a good game, but arguing that the plot was clear and concise is like arguing Courtney Love is a fine upstanding person. You lose.

The game was at best a train wreck in so far as story is involved. While it was important in that it was one of the first games to have a cinematic feel, the American version was convoluted, and not in a good way. Was this due to the story being expanded to fit over 70 hours? Was it due to a bad localization? Or was it messed up from the ground up. I know not. But fighting over it is stupid.

Oh I admit I miss interpreted some things, in no small part thanks to clumsy dialog I'm sure. Makai kingdom it is not in the dialog department.

Good lord I had forgotten just how ugly final fanatsy seven was. Sephoroth still went down like a punk regardless.
