Okay then, new question is needed.

Do you think Beyblade is a popular anime?

Oh yeah, what about Yu Yu Hakusho and Yu-Gi-Oh? I think they're more popular but yeah...

Does this thread have a point, like at all? The fact you can't find anything on it should really give you the idea that it isn't popular.

Beyblade isn't that great.. well its better then B-Damon that show is a rip off, of Beyblade. As for Yu-Yu and Yugio, they are both animes and Yu-gi-o is populare with mostly guys and all that. I don't particularly like it! But then again I'm a girl ^.^

What gives you the idea that Beyblade is not an anime?

I don't think it's right to say without any proof that beyblade is not popular. It was quite popular back in it's day. You're posts just show me how ignorant most of you members here are. Yu-Gi-Oh probably has a bigger fan base now, since the show is still on-going in Japan and the TCG is still flavored.

I never caught on to Yu-Gi-Oh. I thought the anime was way too predictable and the fact that Yugi didn't lose much annoying.

It's a shame that Nelvana did such a bad dubbing job on the beyblade series. I believe it turned off many anime fans.

I liked Yu-Gi-Oh long ago, then I stopped watching it and became a fan of MTG. MTG pwns Yu-Gay-Oh.

Myst Taylor
02-09-2006, 02:09 PM
This might sound random but what's MTG? Sorry, I've never watched it so I'm not very sure.

The point of this thread is to see what you guys opinions are of animes that we don't really see much. Of course, it may be because of being unpopular but I still want to know your opinions.

The dubbing of Beyblade was awful but I got the chance to see some Japanese Episodes and that really done the trick. Of course, I don't like it as an anime as such but I thought the characters were very well planned.

Yu Yu Hakusho and Yu-Gi-Oh were both quite popular at one time. I know Yu Yu Hakusho is still quite popular and so is Yu-Gi-Oh in their own rights. I still love both of them as much as I did 7 years ago.

Well, from the people who have already posted, it would seem BeyBlade is an actual anime, but what I am wondering is it an official Japanese anime, or was it created in America, then passed off as an official anime? If someone could please let me know that would be great...although I suppose I could simply do a search...huh!

Luv Angel EyesWell, the original mangaka was Japanese so I'm kinda guessing it's authentically Japanese but then again, the mangaka could have lived in America. But the characters in the third season are officially proper manga styled drawings to I'm kinda guessing it's an authentic Japanese anime. (Plus, the CGI couldn't have been created anywhere else for G-Rev

Man... Try putting in some lower cases dude.

Beyblade is an anime that was created in Japan. The author of the manga is Takao Aoki. Check d-rights' offical beyblade website if you're not completely satisfied.

Myst Taylor

Really? I right CharacterOC fanfics (especially KaiOC fanfics).

I just thought because FF.Net has like got over 14000 Beyblade fanfics whilst Naruto has 36000 or so and others just under around the same figure as Beyblade (with the exception of InuYasha, although that's been declining recently). Naruto has gone up sharply. Must be because of America.

Anyway, I don't think Beyblade's childish. I still think Kai's buff and it's not on show anymore >.<

I'm very sad to say that Beyblade is in fact an anime; albeit, it's geared towards little children who think tops are cool. Put it on the same shelf as Yu-Gi-Oh and PokeMon; it's a silly and immature piece of animation with limited character depth and growth.

Zoekin
07-03-2006, 04:40 PM
Yes it is an anime. Only it seems to be one of those animes that are more concerned with selling the toys than going anywere with the storyline. I've seen it but I didn't like the story much.

Myst Taylor
07-04-2006, 02:54 PM
That's not true. G-Rev was totally about the storyline.
I've seen the manga! I own one of the volumes!
The graphics was better though.
I must be immature then because I still like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon and Beyblade.

That series has 3 different seasons, so...Also, I don't think they re-drew. It seems that the 2 sequels for the 1st season have the characters when they were younger(or not).

But, anywho, yes, Beyblade's an anime. I used to, sorta, watch it...But you know. ^ ^;;

Yeah, of course its an anime. It's just not that popular so they don't have threads for it.Beyblade is not a popular anime? Of course it is, that's why it's mainstream.

Here are some interesting facts...
- Broadcasted in more than 80 countries. (as of July, 2005)
- No.1 rating on ABC Family (USA), YTV (Canada), Cartoon Network (UK)
- More than 1,000 Merchandising Licensed Products win 400 Licensees worldwide.
- #1 selling Toy in Japan, Canada, UK, Australia and many other countries. More than 250 million units sold worldwide (as of November, 2004)
- PS 1 and Game cube video game ranked at #1 in UK, France, Germany, Italy and Belgium in November, 2003.
- Promotion with top tier partners. (Toyota, National, Burger King, Kelloggs, Frito Lay etc.)

Beyblade is past its prime. Now there are new shows and toys to replace it. Even the most of popular shows end up dying. Expect shows like Naruto to do the same.
