I think I know what you mean.
However if you're serious about making a game, do it the great way instead of the "-maker" way.

I have RPG Maker XP. I have found no good beginner tutorials for it, only ones that tell you how to do certain things. Damned lack of good tutorials.

I played RPG Maker and I have RPG Maker 2000. Used to have XP( and knew how to use it) but my brother unstalled due to that fact that you can put Mp3's on it.

I've used RPG Maker (RM2k, RM2k3, & RMXP).

This might help you:

If that doesn't load than maybe one of these sites:

I've tried all of them, and I'll tell you right away; If you want to make games, get into a team of people doing it with a better engine.
Ofcourse if you like it, keep it. But remember, you're not allowed to sell your games without a license, and the ones that comes with licenses are in Japanese.

I don't understand why some of you people seem to bad-mouth the RPK Makers.
Personally, I've used all three and think they're great for people who don't have the time or the resources to learn programming/graphics design or assemble and pay an entire team of developers in order to bring their rpg game ideas to life.

The downside of course is the lack of uniqueness of your RPG due to the fact that the engine is always the same.
