It all depends on the size of the place and the wild life on it. I can easily fish, built a house, hunt, and there wouldn't be any one to fight. It would be just my love and I, alone. With water front property and a sunset view. Ya gotta love the scenario.

Id bring alot of water, the human body can survive weeks without food, but only a couple days without water, even if ur on an island you cant exactly drink the sea water since its salt water and theres no guarantee that theres fresh water on the island.

Well, I list down my tools of choice depend of what location:

Desert - a GPS with built in map display, easier for me to know my current situation and find the nearest oasis
Small remote island - a Swiss army knives, small, niffty and practical
Unexplore Jungle - Machete
Artic wildreness - a solar powered snow mobile with all the ultility inside


Or maybe I bring my mecha instead....

What one item would I bring with me to a deserted location? That is easy: A Sword.
A sword so I can kill things that try to kill me. Also, the chance of this so-called "deserted location" actually being deserted is extremely slim. Say a random baddie appears to hurt me or steal my beloved blade, it would shortly die by the sword. Then depending on how hungry I am either A) Get eaten, or B) Get harvested for useful things.
