Btw, Lumiere the rules are that you ask and post drawings in ones own gallery, but I immediately loved your Wolfy drawing so much that I rather have it stay here in my gallery. Your wonderful and excellent drawing makes my gallery look extra cool.:awe:

So don't move it, okay?

I have to admit Lumiere's Wolf takes top prize on my thread and I don't mind it one bit. :awe: It's sooo gallery Metropolitan. I'm waiting for the usher to show up any moment now to tell me not to put my fingers on the artwork.

Btw, Noblewoman_of_Sacae, thank you for the compliments.

Your pictures are great. They look more like cartoon style rather than anime. That's a good change! You even take time to draw the complicated scenes -- I would have been too lazy to draw even a flower or some grass to accompany with my character. #_#

If you mean my work, then I thank you very much. If you mean Lumiere's fine drawing then I suspect she (or he?) also thanks you very much.

Or if you're directing complements at both of our works then we both thank you very much. :awe:

I'm long overdue for posting more examples, so I'll sneak these in. :ninja:

Taris again:

A drawing I did a a long time ago:

The style of drawing makes her look like the owner of Lumiere's wolf drawing.

WHOA. Tari must be going through some extreme pain if her ankle is bent like that. Jeez.

I really like the second one, though.

was that intentionally done, or...? I mean, no offense, but that's a pretty big mistake to make. The picture looks fine otherwise [her neck's a bit long, but that's nothing terrible].

Yes it was done for a sort-of fashion style, but it distracts (loudly it appears :<_<: ) from the natural look of the figure.

Er...Vault...these are nice but you're suppose to post images on your own art thread.

Sheesh. It's like the entire family of 8 people wanting to move into your supposedly private bedroom. :<_<:

Nice work though.

Your pictures are great. They look more like cartoon style rather than anime. That's a good change! You even take time to draw the complicated scenes -- I would have been too lazy to draw even a flower or some grass to accompany with my character. #_#I think I know what you mean. Background detail takes a long time to do.

The solution is to not do so much background detail all at one time. Work on one or two small items for the background and then stop once you get weary, become tired, or if you run out of ideas for detail. Go do another project or work on the character in the foreground. Then later come back and continue adding more background details -- you may have fresh new ideas by time you return.

Basically, when people do landscape or background detail they never do it all at once. They break it up into parts -- adding some in one hour, or if one is a serious painter, add more details days later. This way the person never gets bored or weary and is not discouraged from finishing the project.

And also if one is having any problems with a drawing it helps to get away from the drawing and come back later. A person can usually get a fresh eye by the time he or she comes back to the project later, making it possible to sometime see the problem more clearly and correct it.

Another solution is to just draw through the problem -- that's the type of stuff Hayao Miyazaki always does. That's a level where an artist is really up the latter and knows he'll find an answer to the problem because he has a lot of confidence behind his ability, his patience, his experience, and his drawing.

Not to double-post an image or anything, I've instead now changed the images in the first number of postings. So please go to the first page to view my first three and four postings in the gallery thread to see the new updated images.

I'll make sure I don't do it that way again though.
