I made this thread for fighting game fans.Games like Street Fighter, Tekken, Soul Cailbar, Mortal Kombat Games, Gulity Gear X and other fighting games I left out...If you have any strategies or tips for people on how to play better feel free to help. There a lot of people who suck at fighting games so go ahead and help out. Name the best fighting game your good at. Also post a pick of your favorite character on any fighting game.

The best fighting game I am good at is Street Fighter. I love all the street fighter games and I am really good at all them. My favorite street fighter type fighting game has to be Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 & 2. Also like old school street fighters like on Sega or Super Nintendo. My favorite characters have to be Ryu, Chunli and Cammy. But out of all the street fighter characters Ryus my favorite.

Street Fighter Game Tips: Never stay in one place, I say you move alot when fighting. If your gonna attack make sure the attack hits, punching and kicking at the air makes your character look stupid. Use your super combos when the person/com your fighting is open for a hit( like if they punch or are getting ready to shoot or something) Throw them when they get close enough(I am extremely good at throwing:D ) Dont forget to block too, blocking is a life saver. Learn your characters and make the perfect team. If your not doing nothing at home pop in the game and create a team and learn all there moves to become the best!

I love Street Fighter. It's the only reason fighting games exist, and while Capcom has been slacking lately, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Capcom Vs. SNK 2 are still a couple of the best fighting games to exist. Soul Calibur and Guilty Gear are also great and original series. I never liked Tekken, though 5 admittedly is VERY impressive, and Mortal Kombat has always been a crappy fighting game with a crappy combat engine hidden under layers of unrealistic and pointless gore. Smash Brothers I never got into...I mean...the cheapest way to win in any game that lets you is always ring-outs, and that's all Super Smash is. But maybe I'm just bitter because I can always beat my friends into high percentages really quickly, but I can almost never knock them out. I'm just not big on the idea of being able to survive lasers, fire, blades, bombs, hammers, freezing, and generally haveing the living snot beaten out of you, and then dying because you drifted off camera.

King of Fighters. For silly reasons, I will not debate how "realistic" the game is; For each time I do, it brings back painful memories of never being Iori Yagami.

At least, The KOF line of games has not dissapointed. If you even count Maximum Impact, which is the tarnish on the great if not legendary name of the game. It's all in good taste.

Yes this thread has already been made indeed and almost identical they are! Even so much as to still leave out DEAD OR ALIVE so i'm just gonna copy and paste my old post!


This is blasphemis to the Beat'em'up genre, how in the world could you forget the Dead or Alive series, they're my personal fav. It's fluid gameplay and fast paced which means you don't have to wait like 5 mins before you character make there move like in Tekken! Don't get me wrong Tekken is a good game but it's too slow, way tooo slow, i would just get bored waiting for them to attack cause it takes so long, whilst DoA is much different, and is also the first game to utilize the Counter-System effectivly enough to use often and with interactive inviroments and stunning looking characters, not in the sense of looking good but in the graphical sense.

Even though you havn't added Bloody Roar, it is another title i like and enjoy quite a bit, it is original with the transformation sequences and some very inpressive combos, it only really started to get playble on the 3rd game, being more fluid and also had a go at using interactive stages.

Street Fighter - i was considering chosing either this one or Soul Caliber II but chose other instead. This is like thee god of the genre. I grew up on this game alone, whilst other people where playing Mario Allstars i was playing Street Fighter II Turbo all the time. The 3d incanations of this one was a dissapointment, in other words they suck. However with the Alpha series they returned to there roots with the 2-d style with loads of new and interesting characretrs, enter Sakura, being a fav of mine and also ^^; But those noobs that get you cornerd in the classic ones and just do the Thousand hand slaps or the Lightning kick, such a cheap way to win, or people what do that Ha-Do-Ken whatever it's called.

Soul Caliber II - not much to say on this as most people should know about this one. Could be the beat'em'up of the year of 2004 and probally was. The first game was way ahead of all the others beat'em'ups when it was released on the Dreamcast and this one has failed to dissapoint. I still think the characters could be a bit more repsonsive but i like games that are fast paced, saying so it still is faster that most of the others. Weapon master as in the previous games was always fun and time consuming to play, able to obtain new and interesting weapons, with galleries to unlock, hidden characters, stages, just so much to do for a a game of this genre. Which made this game possibly one of the games of this genre that had one of the longest life-spans. Graphics wise, they are amazing. Although once you unlock everything it does get a bit boring especially when no one will play you, it's the same for DoA with me, no one ever wants to face me too much, so i get bored a lot!

Smash Bros - is fun, that's all it is, is a fun game to play with your friends. Nothing much to it, just one of those party games

Guilty Gear - Don't know too much on this one, i havn't played it since it's PS1 days, i like the look of it and also has a good OST, but i'm a bit fuzzy on most of the other details so ima gonna skip this one.
I'm not even going to make much of a comment on the Mortal Combat games, look they were good on the SNES and Megadrive but since they got all 3D they suck, however i did think MK Triology was an ok game

i've always loved the tekken series and all the characters fighting stlyes. no lie, i do like Street fighter, i mean who doesn't...it's just that my brother always smashes me in any and ever Street fighter game there is! but when it comes to me Challenging somebody else instead of my brother then i'd rank myself as second best.
But in tekken i can't be stopped...by him any ways...Tekken 5 is just beyond the coolest series! Although i find each and every persons ending alittle off topic and some meaningless, it's still funny.:laugh: hah hah!

Soul Calibur 2 is the best one I've played. Street Fighter seems to just be repackaging the same stuff over and over again, while Mortal Kombat is definitely running out of ideas (Kombat Chess, anyone?). Super Smash Bros is more about luck than skills, although that may just be my excuse for continually losing at it. Tekken annoys me because whenever I fight a friend at it, they will always use Christina/Eddy, the most noobish characters in the history of any fighting game. Whatever's left, I've either not played or I forgot about.

I thought I allready posted on this thread but I guess I was wrong (or maybe there is a thread just like it somewhere else) well its not really thet importatt any way. Ok my favorite fighting game probally is super smash bors mele, but it is verry hard to pick considering that they have made a lot of good fighting games. I also like the original soper smash bros for nintendo 64, and i like DOA (Dead or Alive). Mortal combat and street fighter are also verry good games. these are probaly my faverite four though.

hmmm...the poll is closed, however i will post my opinion:

Tekken 5 for the ps2 in my opinion has the best fighting system out of any game, and is worth what you pay for it, it's one of my favorites, however, i really like Street Fighter Alpha 2, i'm a ryu player, he's the best character.

I can't give a clear choice between my two favorite fighters: Super Smash Brothers (Period), and Dead or Alive. The reason I like them so much is because they seem the least like button mashers to me.

Rumble Roses XX was very amusing lol. Only the problem in this game is, that you need to be so very patients to unlock caracters (Other Rumble Roses Fighters) or bikini's and many stuff like that, before you beat this game for real..

And there are no argievements to earn in this game,

Dead Or Alive 4, Very cool, only the system to block punches or kicks of your opponent is so complicated somethimes, its only a matter of practice i gues ^^..

I love Soul Calibur for the quickness and responsiveness. But I also like the older 2d games for the same reasons; Darkstalkers, Street Fighter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc.

hmm lets see mortal kombat,dead or alive 4,or super smash bros melee...its time for VIDEO GAME STATS:

DEAD OR ALIVE 4

PROS=it has excelent...graphics, pretty good fighting and nice ninjas

CONS=well despite the name there is no killing and the throws ARENT REALY SPECIAL MOVES so there are realy no special powers

MORTAL KOMBAT=

PROS=it has fatalittys,blood,and on the consels besides mk gold you can switch fighting styles

CONS=parents say that it is too violent(haha yah right seriously how many people say yah im gonna be like scorpion and kill quan chi well besides some giant nerds...im a geek)and the stages arent that great

SUPER SMASH BROS.MELEE

PROS= get to do crossovers with other nintendo charaters and is one of the best gamecube games of all time

CONS=no spartan or blood and some characters are very hard to get
