"Freakin' Sweet!" Everyone is saying that nowdays. Napoleon Dynamite, the teen movie of the year (in my book anyways) has quickly risen to a cult status. Do you guys find this show incredibly funny or incredibly moronic? What do you think of geeky Napoleon?
Personally, I love this movie. It's just so... awkward. Napoleon has no sophistication whatsoever. The real highlight of the movie though was when he danced ay the end. ^__^ Coolest teen flick if there ever was one.

OMG!!! I love that movie!! My brother and I watched it, and it was pretty hilarious. Even though my friends thought it was stupid, we still quote lines from it from time to time.....

Napoleon Dynamite is really good! :laugh: Everyone I know that has seen it is quoting parts from it and trying to talk like Napoleon! But what was the point? (I can't see it, but I still love it!) My older sister said the point of the movie was that a geek became popular (since he is the school president's best friend and all). What do you guys think?

i think the movie was great, i was crying from laughing at points. Personally I think its so popular is because everyone can relate to some part in the movie..a bogus date, not being part of the in group, etc. Basically, it does an awesome job of making fun of lifes shortcomings

I'm old enough to understand the time period. I had moon boots, my brother is 31 so he was into all that kind of stuff as it was coming out. Hell we had an old 8088. The movie is really funny, very well done and low budget. It looks like the type of movie you'd have a lot of fun making ^^.

this movie had no plot what so ever but i found it to be totaly funny the two part that stick in my head is where pradro's cousin pull up and shake there heads at the boy who is stealing the other boys bike and the part where pradro shaved his head

Yay. That part was great too. I also thought the part when Napoleon was handing out flyers in the hall was funny......

i thought the movie was pure genius...i just watched it for the 8th time. the one thing that bugs me is that before the movie came out, i was one of maybe three or four people i know who actually thought it would be good, and now its become a fad and people are quoting from it and wearing "Vote 4 Pedro" shirts.....annoying

what i find funny is there is no middle ground with the movie. you either love it or can't stand it.

I don't know, really. I watched this up north in the U.P of Michigan with my family in a cabin. And it could have simply been the people I was watching it with, but I really didn't enjoy it that much. There were some parts that did, in fact, make me laugh. But for the majority, I found the intentional lack of a plot line to be pretty boring. Napo's monotone dead voice also drove me crazy, but I loved his brother. I really don't know about it. I've heard raving wonders about it and rarely any dislikes, but I just don't really like it that much. I was expecting some great and hysterical movie and was truly disappointed. Again, as I said, it could have just been the atmosphere in which I was watching it; but I've always been more of an action/hardcore comedy type girl.
