Advent basically celebrates the first week of 4 , up to Christmas eve. Its a religious thing.

Not true, actually. Hollidays like Valentine's Day and Halloween are more commercialized for the economy. Advent is simply the preparation for it. Visit any Catholic church(I don't know about non-Catholics) and you'll see a wreath with four candles, three blue and one pink(or white). =)

We usually celebrate it in Norway.. I don't know about the rest of the world O_x
