What is the first number in numerical order that has the letter "a" in it?
example: one, two, three. etc..

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:00 PM
One Thousand.

Bean Bandit
11-12-2004, 06:01 PM
Looks at you suspiciously.... You were looking over my shoulders. Confess up.

LadyPSerenity
11-12-2004, 06:02 PM
There went the fun in that one... are there to be more quizzes uhm... like a riddle thread, we had one of those at AGNet... it was a lot of fun.

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:04 PM
It could be one hundred and one.

Bean Bandit
11-12-2004, 06:05 PM
*raises Ai's rep.... even tho I know she was looking thru my monitor

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:07 PM
Yeah, I was looking through your window into your SOUL man. I can read your thoughts. It's true! When you think, a little window pops up...

Gimmie another one!

Myrra
11-12-2004, 06:11 PM
Aaah, I was too late. That could have had me guessing for ages...as I am not good with riddles.

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:13 PM
Well, I went through 1-10... no A's. Teen has no A's in it, neither did anything else. Hundred didn't. Thousand did, million didn't, billion didn't...

Bean Bandit
11-12-2004, 06:14 PM
I used to know a ton of riddles... Anyone got one in the mean time to post here?

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:16 PM
It's made of wood, it comes in many different sizes and colors, and no matter what, everyone uses it once.

What is it?

Kewii
11-12-2004, 06:21 PM
a coffin?

Die Tod von Euch
11-12-2004, 06:22 PM
edit: Dang! Klutz beat me to it... *pouts*

Pig_catapult
11-12-2004, 06:22 PM
Riddles, eh? I got tons of them! Inner demon! Give them the riddle!

This thing all things devours:
Birds, trees, beasts, flowers;
gnaws iron; bites steel
grinds hard stones to meal;
slays kings, ruins towns,
And beats high mountains down.

Myrra
11-12-2004, 06:22 PM
The wind?

Die Tod von Euch
11-12-2004, 06:23 PM
time?

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:23 PM
I think it's the wind too.

And damnit. I suck at posting riddles.

Die Tod von Euch
11-12-2004, 06:25 PM
I think it's time, not the wind. Because while the wind does some of those things, it doesn't do all of them. And it certainly doesn't "devour" all of that. It will wear down mountains and rocks and such, yes, but it doesn't go around killing beasts and kings and such. That's why I think it's time. Because time will bring about all of that.

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:37 PM
Y'know, you sold me. I think it's time now.

Bean Bandit
11-12-2004, 06:47 PM
@pig catapult and others. If your going to post a riddle please stay on the board to see it thru. If your posting then going to log off, please save your riddle for when you have time, to let the others know when they are correct. Its not fair to post a riddle then dissapear, when there are people watching the thread and participating.

*Lowers his rep*

Just teasin. lol

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:48 PM
...--Lowers thier rep--

Grow a spine baby! XD

I can't think of any riddles. None that I actually know the answer to.

Myrra
11-12-2004, 06:52 PM
The only one that I can think of is the one the sphinx supposedly asked. But I'm pretty sure everyone knows that one.

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:54 PM
That's the one I know, but I don't know the answer lol

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 06:54 PM
k here ya go

You are in a cold house in the winter. It is dark. You have one match. There is a candle and there is a wood burning stove. Which do you light first?

Myrra
11-12-2004, 06:55 PM
The match...lol

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 06:56 PM
yay you got it!

What is it that gets wetter when it dries?

Bean Bandit
11-12-2004, 06:56 PM
Grow a spine baby! XD
I hate admitting to things.... But that was very funny and had me laughing for the first time today. Sad part is... it was directed at me. But it is ok because it was said at the right time to be funny

Myrra
11-12-2004, 06:58 PM
A towel...I think.

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 06:58 PM
XD

I did lower it, btw.

I would have said the stove... XD I'm so bad at these.

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 06:59 PM
yay a towel.

Who makes it, has no need of it.
Who buys it, has no use for it.
Who uses it can neither see nor feel it.

Myrra
11-12-2004, 07:01 PM
Ga!! Why couldn't you stick with the easy ones??

Hmmm...this one's harder...
Oww...my brain hurts...

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 07:02 PM
*sings the jeopardy theme song*

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 07:03 PM
Something to do with a pet...!

Kewii
11-12-2004, 07:05 PM
lol. I think raye pointed out the trick question...

here's one from me:

Never resting, never still.
Moving silently from hill to hill.
It does not walk, run or trot,
All is cool where it is not.

What is it?

Myrra
11-12-2004, 07:05 PM
I still haven't a clue...hint, please.

What's with all the hard questions??? You're hurting my poor under-used brain.

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 07:06 PM
The sun!

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 07:06 PM
sun!

Myrra
11-12-2004, 07:09 PM
Aawww, darn it...I should have known...:p

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 07:10 PM
eh noone got my last...

I know a word of letters three.
Add two, and fewer there will be.

Kewii
11-12-2004, 07:10 PM
the sun is right....and I believe the other one, from mononoke, is also a coffin.

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 07:13 PM
sixty.

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 07:13 PM
oooh yay you got the coffin one right...

what about the last one?

Myrra
11-12-2004, 07:26 PM
hmmm...I'm thinking I should know this....

tricky, tricky....Ga!!! I can't think of any three letter words besides one and few... and I'm pretty sure one isn't the answer. But I don't know that Few is it either.

Kewii
11-12-2004, 07:27 PM
wait wait...few, add two letters, is fewer

is that it?

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 07:29 PM
Fewer works better than sixty.

Kewii
11-12-2004, 07:29 PM
how did you get sixty anyway?

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 07:32 PM
your soooo good klutz!

All about, but cannot be seen,
Can be captured, cannot be held,
No throat, but can be heard.

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 07:33 PM
Well it said three letters, so I thought one or two, but then it said you add two and it becomes more, so I was like... sixty.

I might have just read it wrong.

Is THAT one Air? Or Wind rather?

Myrra
11-12-2004, 08:00 PM
My brain hurts from all this thinking. It is the weekend after all.

LadyPSerenity
11-12-2004, 09:44 PM
Air sounds right.

Princess Mononoke
11-12-2004, 11:32 PM
yay air/ wind same thing

Daenerys
11-12-2004, 11:48 PM
My brain hurts from all this thinking. It is the weekend after all. That's not quite yet dear sister! Bad excuse XD

Give us another one!

Myrra
11-13-2004, 12:00 AM
*laughs* how about now? Is it okay to call it the weekend now?

Hmmm..perhaps I should go search for one? brb

Okay...here's one that I know the answer to:

I have 2 US coins that total 55 cents, and one is not a nickle. What do I have?

Fabala
11-13-2004, 12:04 AM
A variation of a favorite riddle of mine ^^

You awaken to find yourself in a room. In this room are two doors, each guarded by a man. These are the only ways to exit the room. Choosing one door will lead to freedom, while choosing the other will lead to certain death. One man can say nothing but the truth. He stands in front of the door to freedom. The other man can say nothing but lies. He stands in front of the door to certain death. You are able to ask one man one question and, based on his answer, select which door you will exit through.

Explain to me what you must say to get out alive.

*Hint* There are several similar ways this can be solved.

Myrra
11-13-2004, 12:11 AM
Oh, this is not difficult, Reiako...they way I originally heard it had to do with 2 indian tribes, but anyway...You ask one of them if the other would tell you the door you are at leads to safety. And based on the answer you do the opposite as either way the liar would tell you his door was safe.

Daenerys
11-13-2004, 12:12 AM
Two quarters and a canadian dime for the first one...

And I remember that second one from Labrinth, which is funny because that movie reminds me of you, Rei.

Fabala
11-13-2004, 12:14 AM
Edit: ^So you've said...though I don't look a thing like her ^^

Well sure, nothing's hard once you've heard it before ^_~

*laughs* how about now? Is it okay to call it the weekend now?

Hmmm..perhaps I should go search for one? brb

Okay...here's one that I know the answer to:

Daenerys
11-13-2004, 12:19 AM
OH! I remember that joke now.

Bean Bandit
11-13-2004, 12:20 AM
a dime

Myrra
11-13-2004, 12:23 AM
Reiako, nothing gets by you. *laughs* That one is just simple logic, like the riddle about the match, the candle and the stove earlier.

One is a fifty cent piece and the other a nickle. I just said that one was not a nickle.

skyler22
11-13-2004, 12:24 AM
urm explain please

Fabala
11-13-2004, 12:26 AM
This one is easy, but the wording is nice ^^

Always old, sometimes new
Never sad, sometimes blue
Never empty, sometimes full
Never pushes, always pulls
What is it?

Daenerys
11-13-2004, 12:30 AM
The ocean?

Myrra
11-13-2004, 12:30 AM
Aaaahhh, my head...that is not an easy one.

*laughs* I can't think of anything.
*edit* Oh, tankies Ai!! I have it! The moon!!!

Fabala
11-13-2004, 12:32 AM
The ocean?

No, but you're on the right track ^^

Die Tod von Euch
11-13-2004, 12:32 AM
The moon!!

Edit: My roommate figured it out, not me...

Fabala
11-13-2004, 12:33 AM
That's my girl XDDD

Edit: Close enough
Edit II: BOTH my girls ^^

Myrra
11-13-2004, 12:34 AM
Awww, man! I need to learn to edit faster. That, and concentrate on doing one thing at a time...lol

Daenerys
11-13-2004, 12:36 AM

Die Tod von Euch
11-13-2004, 12:36 AM
He's not a girl, he's a cute asian guy.

Edit edit: He now says that he wants more riddles, or he will beat um...everyone? o_O With a hampster corpse.

Fabala
11-13-2004, 12:39 AM
Cute? XD Would he like another?

skyler22
11-13-2004, 12:40 AM
okey i have one urm
you have a chicken, some corn, and a fox you have to take them one at a time across a brige with out one eating the other as you do so how do you do it? and no all you have is the chicken corn and fox no rope or anything like that

Myrra
11-13-2004, 12:40 AM
skyler, that is easy...first you take the chicken across, then you return and take the corn/grain across. You bring the chicken back across with you and exchange it for the fox and take the fox across. Then you go back for the chicken...ta da

Okay, here's another one:

The following words have a connection. What is it?

Archive Dilly-Dally

Message Bayonet

and on a side note...when did my title change???

Daenerys
11-13-2004, 12:43 AM
I don't get the question Raye

skyler22
11-13-2004, 12:44 AM

Princess Mononoke
11-13-2004, 12:46 AM

Fabala
11-13-2004, 12:49 AM
Not quite, Aies my dear ^^

Raye's is that each contains a, er...oh, herb ^^;; Hard h if you're Australian. Weird because I always think of them as bay leaves =/

Pakachu
11-13-2004, 12:49 AM
"Archive Dilly-Dally

Message Bayonet"
connection is that they all have the letter "a" in them?

Myrra
11-13-2004, 12:52 AM
Ooops..see, I'm trying to do too many things at once.
Ai, it's a Mensa test. The 4 words have something in common
You'll need to look inside of the words to discover what it is.

*edit* Ga!!! I hate editing...*laughs*
Reiako has the answer! You must be Mensa material!

Die Tod von Euch
11-13-2004, 12:53 AM
11133122211

Edit: and I figured that out all on my own...he couldn't figure it out, even after I explained it. That is...if I'm right.

Daenerys
11-13-2004, 12:54 AM
I think this one's way out of my leauge.

Fabala
11-13-2004, 01:00 AM
11133122211

Edit: and I figured that out all on my own...he couldn't figure it out, even after I explained it. That is...if I'm right.

Nope, sorry ^^ Though you do have the first 4 numbers correct. A hint: There are 10 digits in the answer.

Myrra
11-13-2004, 01:04 AM
1113112221

skyler22
11-13-2004, 01:05 AM
okey i fell so left out and ignored -_-

Fabala
11-13-2004, 01:12 AM
Don't feel left out. Take a stab at something not yet answered or post your own.

1113112221

Nope ^^

This is why I like this one...

Myrra
11-13-2004, 01:20 AM
You're killing me here, Reiako. I am so not Mensa material. Super genius I am not. 1113122211?

Fabala
11-13-2004, 01:23 AM
Sorry, no ^^;
Look for meaning in the numbers, not just a pattern ^_~

skyler22
11-13-2004, 01:27 AM
erg i know i can get this 1113422112

Die Tod von Euch
11-13-2004, 01:31 AM
A MEANING in the numbers? Huh? Do what? What do they mean? Arg!!! >_<

Edit: Please give us a hint on the meaning? There's me, my roommate, and our friend all working on it and we're stumped.

Fabala
11-13-2004, 01:35 AM
Nope, sorry...that's not it either ^^

I mean look at each line as it corresponds with the others. (That could give it away)

Myrra
11-13-2004, 01:35 AM
Meaning??? At 00.30?? Mon Dieu! I might as well search for the meaning of life.

Fabala
11-13-2004, 01:38 AM
XD

Well, if you have a guess at either, do let me know.

Die Tod von Euch
11-13-2004, 01:40 AM
1113213211

Myrra
11-13-2004, 01:43 AM
Cute? XD Would he like another?

1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
13112221

What is the next line?
1113331222
grrr...it should add up to 21...as that should be the next number in the sequence, but I can't figure this out!

Fabala
11-13-2004, 01:44 AM
Yay! I knew you were brilliant XDD

Edit: the death of you got it ^^ Care to tell them how the pattern goes?

skyler22
11-13-2004, 01:45 AM
okey it goes
1
12
2< 1+1 so am i on the right track at lest

Die Tod von Euch
11-13-2004, 01:47 AM
No no no... It's like this.
1
so there's one 1 (11)

so, from 13112221, there one 1, one 3, two 1s, three 2s, and one 1, so you have 1113213211

Myrra
11-13-2004, 01:48 AM
Your hint was quite helpful as it's the that dude's sequence...I can say it, but I can't spell it. Fib...Fibinace? Or whatever...

Pakachu
11-13-2004, 01:49 AM
No no no... It's like this.
1
so there's one 1 (11)

so, from 13112221, there one 1, one 3, two 1s, three 2s, and one 1, so you have 1113213211
say what?! @_@...?

Die Tod von Euch
11-13-2004, 01:51 AM
Each line is telling you what the line before it had. The first line has a 1, so the second line says that there was one 1 (11). The third line then says that there was two 1s (21). So, the forth says that there was one 2 and one 1, so you have 1211. Get it?

Pakachu
11-13-2004, 02:06 AM

example: one, two, three. etc.. Assuming you're geek enough and know hex, it's aigh (a).
But it could also be "one and a half"
