Um. o_o;
I liked it. Scratch that, I adored it.
I liked when she was going down the stairs and smacked into the wall, and I loved Haku. It was just a great film, all around. <3 <3 <3

I loved this film to. One of the first animes I've ever seen. I showed it to pratically all my friends and nobody ever said it sucked. Even my L.A. class that has little knowledge of anime watched it and liked it. Instead they watch this crap called Fairly Odd Parents...

i love it.. even my non-anime reletives who thought anime just for kids liked this movie, and saw how popular it is. The character designs aren't good but everything else is good.
I loved it...I thought it was so cute...

This is one of my favorite movies. It's not too scary and it shows that the little girl was way smarter than her parents...she knew enough not to eat the food there. And she figured out how to save them.

Actually, I thought she was being kind of stubborn by not eating the food...smart though. ^_^
As for the movie in general, it was cute. The ending was sweet too. All of that over a shoe. lol.

That was a REALLY good movie. I wanted to watch it again and again... but the day I watched it the power kept flickering so it was really annoying (luckily it was a VHS so I could easily find where I left off). VERY good movie. ^_^

Yup, sprited away is definately one of the best movies i've ever seen. And there is nothing to be suprised about this film, be cause it's made by Studio Ghibli. They really know how to make great anime movie.
So, i liked almost everything about it. The plot was interesting, and full of new unseen ideas. Fantasy world is exciting and unforgetable. I'll never forget that epizode, where the train goes through the sea . Awsome idea - railway in the sea. I also liked Susuwatari ( those little black things who were guarding Sen shoes) . Touching and nice music left me in fascination - applouds for Joe Hisaishi.
Quote : usagi200 <The character designs aren't good but everything else is good.>
Completely disagree about the characters design. Creators tried to make them just cute, and more close to simple people, not gorgeous heroes. That makes this film more humanistic. Artwork is great too, very attentive. Hmm, Justina / Tenchigirl15 thinks it's kid anime. To be honest, i dont think so. Well this film is very sensuous and kindhearted, and the most of the audience are teenagers i think, but i still can't say Spirited away is a childish anime, nop no way. I also can't blame Justina, i can just wonder what hardcore anime does she watch. (Justina / Tenchigirl15 pls don't take this as offence). But I left a bit confuzed by abrupt beginning. Actually the original script had to be 3 hours long, so many scenes had to be cut to bring it down to 2.
After all this film made great impression on me and it still is in the 4 place of my fave anime list.:D

That's one of my favorite movies. I let the kids I babysit for watch it on rainy days and when I take care of them after dark, and they always nag me about it the next time I come to babysit =n.n=. It's one of my favorite kids' movies, second only to Tenko Shiro no Laputa (Castle in the Sky) and My neighbor Totoro, both also made by Hayao Miyazaki.

I think Spirited Away is one of the loveliest movies ever. Excellent even for Miyazaki's work (I loved Princes Mononoke too) :3 I liked Haku. He was cool.
this movie is fun really fun, touching all bases for emotion (love, anger, sadness, etc.). Great great movie worth being watched by anyone.

I loved that movie all of it. It had a pretty good moral to it as well. It showed that even if you are scared you can do anything and to never give up. My favorite two chracters are Zen and haku. I have the movie and I enjoy watching it but the movie I would like to see is Castle in the Sky.

His name is Haku, spirit fire. ^_^
Anywho, I have to agree with lilyangel! I do hope that they decide to make a second one. I'd love it if Chihiro and Haku got to see eachother again. If I were her, I'd just stay with Haku, but then again, I don't have loving parents!

Oh I havnt seen this movie in such a long time...it was so good though, maybe I will go rent it this weekend just to see it again. Mirazaki (Dont know if I spelled that right) is such a genious. I wish I had some of his talent, the cool thing about this is that I might be watching it in my Mythology class in school. Becuase its strongly based around old Japanese Gods and Demons and such, it kinda fits into our Asian myths theme we will be doing towards the mittle of the Semester.
I hope we do, it will introduce even more people to Anime, I brought up Anime one day and half the class was like...What the heck in Anime? Lets just say I felt like dumb slapping just about everyone in the room right then...hehehe.
Looks like I'm in the majority when I say this movie is great. I borrowed it from a friend, and because I've read this thread, I want to see it again.

Just for the sake of correction, it's spelled 'Miyazaki'. And I must agree with you there. He has made great films, and I hope that I'll get to see more. I have yet to see Castle in the Sky, and I've seen most of Kiki's Delivery Service.
I'm glad that I actually own Spirited Away. It was odd, how I got it. My friend and I celebrated our birthday's on the same day, and we got eachother the movie! It was so great! Anywho, I love that movie. I have to say that it's my SECOND favorite, though. Princess Mononoke comes first, sorry to say!
Anyway...Go m1abrams! Teach your classmates of anime, and make them love it!

It was his last movie.... if Studio Ghibli DOES decide to make another one i doubt the story would be as good... Miyazaki won't be working on it.

Yes, I heard about that unfortunate news. It makes me sad that he's done making movies. If there is indeed a sequel, then I don't think it will be half as good as the first.

Sprited Away isn't his last movie, his new movie Howls Flying Castle based on the book by British author Diana Wynne Jones was released in Japan a few months ago. the main character (the old woman) reminds me of Yubaba, the design is similar to sprited Away.
