Rest in peace, Aretha Franklin.

Aretha Louise Franklin, known as the Queen of Soul, passed away at 76 just a couple of days after a report came out about her being ill in her Detroit residence. Best known for hits like "RESPECT", "(You make me feel like) A Natural Woman", "I Never Loved a Man the Way I Loved You", "Sistas are Doin' it for Themselves", "Spanish Harlem", "A Rose is Still a Rose", "Rock Steady", "Jump to It", "Freeway of Love", "Who's Zoomin' Who", "Chain of Fools", "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Going to Do)", "Something He can Feel", "I Knew You were Waiting (For Me)", "Baby I Love You", "(Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You've Been Gone", "Think", "Share Your Love with Me", "Call me", "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Don't Play That Song (You've Lied)", "Day Dreaming", "Angel", "I'm in Love", "Break It to me Gently", "Jump to It", "Get It Right", and many more; she was a figurehead and powerhouse artist among the Gospel, R&B, and Pop genres, and held in high regards amongst other artists in other genres as well.

Apparently she was hospitalized over the weekend, when the doctors determined they could do nothing more for her cancer. They let her go home where she died in her own bed surrounded by family.

Remember this?

Very sad to hear, she had an amazing career and was an inspiration to to many. Her music was very powerful indeed.

Well, RIP. I never knew the name of the woman where those songs came from.
Well if the QoSoul is gone to heaven, I don't think "The Godfather of Soul (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-qQvXawnmjk)" will share the same fate.

R.I.P. Aretha Franklin. My heart is heavy, thinking about and processing this. In her career the legendary songstress sang about what we all yearn for, really, which is: R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Interesting fact~She died the same day the King of Rock, Elvis Presley died. August 16th.
The King and Queen can reign from on high together now~

A four-day wake will segue into a live funeral. I wish I could go and pay my respects. Once again R.I.P. to the undisputed Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin!!

I heard it is an open coffin and they change her dress every day. Isn't that a bit too much? Let her rest already!

Did you hear she left an estate well into the millions -- and no will? That can get pretty ugly fast.
