The Tale of Princess Kagura does not look like a Ghibli film, but I liked it anyway. A lot.
When Marnie was There was magic.
What makes Castle in the Sky so good is that it is a kids’ adventure film which does not talk down to its audience. In other words, it is not stupid.
Grave of the Fireflies is a heart-breaker. No one watches this one and does not cry.
Ponyo is another one for kids, more so than Castle in the Sky. But it is still an intelligent film which respects its audience. I loved the artwork, which made me think of the work of van Gogh.
The Secret World of Arrietty was underrated.
