Why Do People Consider Invader Zim Anime?

Im confused. In most of my anime magazines, they have adds for Invader Zim and it doesn't look like anime to me at all. Is it really anime?

Invader Zim isn&#39;t anime, and no one really considers it so. But Invader Zim, like most of Jhonen Vasquez&#39;s work, appeals to Anime fans a lot. Likewise, places like Blockbuster group all mature-oriented animation in with anime. Which is appropriate since Zim appeals to teens and adults much more than to children. And other movies like Yellow Submarine obviously aren’t intended for children.

lol ionno man. i think Invader Zim is just a Poser-Wannabe Anime made by Nubie artists who cant draw anime for 5h1T. and youll know its anime by lookin at the after-show credits if the names are Japanese or Chinese or wutever.... B)

Its not anime. It dosen&#39;t even pretend to be anime (Unlike half the shows on CN nowadays). It&#39;s written and drawn like a cartoon version of one of Jhonen Vasquez&#39;s underground comics, only toned down for Nick&#39;s standards. Which you&#39;d know if you knew what the hell you were talking about.

It's not really anime like pratically everybody says but its very good for a cartoon.

I think it is anime because when iwas searching for anime DVDs in stores invader Zim was in the anime category.

I don't usually consider it an anime... but it is hysterical! Hahaha! I love the dog-robot... lol.

Invader Zim is not anime. It may show up in that section, but only because it appeals to an older crowd. What I love about anime is how pretty it is, and Zim is NOT. Not saying it's bad though.

A lot of American cartoon people are getting into the wannabe anime thing. I've seen it on tampon ads, for crying out loud.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to imitate a popular style though. Personally, i like the Anime style.

As for Zim. Negatory on the Anime. It's just funny, and that's probably the closest to appropriate section for it.

I like the anime style too, but I hate when they get it all wrong. If they did it like Japanese artists, I would be one happy camper.
