What genre's do you like to read besides Manga?

I like to read Crime Thrillers, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Historical-mostly history books, Scottish Romance novels, and the occasional multiple biography on a bunch of people no one has really heard of.

So, what are yours?

Sci-Fi/Fantasy, of course. A book genre, which takes you on an exciting journey and deals with the supernatural. :)

I'm a huge Stephen King fan. The Dark Tower is my favorite series. Dreamcatcher is my favorite stand alone book.

The only book I wouldn't read from Stephen King is 'It'. I DO NOT like clowns and that one really creeps me out. Otherwise, I have read 'Carrie' and I saw the movie 'The Stand', which I thought was pretty good.

I like reading romance novels, fantasy and crime thrillers. I am very picky when it comes to new authors or books; the story has to really captivate me in order for me to want to take down the book from its shelf and buy it. I never go by what others think of certain books is currently popular, so I definitely don't keep up with various hypes around the world.

It's not picky by any means. If you know what you like then the more power to you. I don't read long biographies because they bore me to death and I only read historical romance because I like the knight in shining armor and medieval times bit.

My favorite book of Stephen King is 11/22/63 also it's not scary at all :) I like reading books about rock musicians and the last one is "Just Kids". What are Scottish Romance novels

I hate historical books: the most boring literature ever!
At least there are guys who can write me a book report (http://www.essaytrust.org) on history topics.

90% of the time it is scientific and/or technical books, when its not then its either a novel (regardless of the genre) or manga.

I like to read many sorts of books. When I want to escape, my favourites are fantasy literature, including children's books, and murder mysteries. However, I also like to read non-fiction, about subjects which interest me such as Egyptology, Jungian psychology, mythology and other fairly esoteric matters. I read "serious" literature and classics as well, although tend not to read too many classics as I find some of them dry. I absolutely cannot abide chick lit, romance and "hard" science fiction about space ships with lots of techno-talk in them. I'm fortunate to be part of the Bookcrossing community and have come across many books and authors I would not have heard of otherwise.

I love Egyptology^.^ Favorite thing to read about was the mummies. I wanted to go to Egypt so badly (still do) and see the pyramids, so hopefully sometime in the future I can do that. Mythology is also a favorite of mine.

I like to collect language books and read them.

Fantasy novels are the best (for me).

Looking at the name of the wind to be my next book.

(Maybe I'm a bit late) but you REALLY need to read it. I started The Wise Man's Fear and I'm totally in love with it. I like Fela, she's great.

Fantasy in general has been my go-to genre, but lately I've gotten into urban fantasy with things like Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series and Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson and Alpha/Omega series'.

Fantasy and Science Fiction are my mainstays, especially books or series that break the standard formulae, be it with unexpected plot points/resolutions, unique storytelling techniques etc.
