Welcome to the NHK - (an anime about hikikomori)

So anyone seen 'welcome to the NHK' I'm watching it right now (full series is on YouTube anyhow). I can't decide if it's the worst kind of deliberate pandering to the lowest base of what it percieves anime fans are i.e. basement dwellers, otaku's, single men in there early twenties etc or if it's actually a social commentary.

It is hilarious though, and surprising what they can get away with.

yeah i loved it had such a great storyline.

Although i did think it was funny at times. With a quite realistic view to every day life, from time to time. It made me depressed with nearly every episode. >___>
