It was announced by Nintendo today that Secret Bases will a return and will be available in the remakes Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. Players will have the ability to customize their Secret Bases with decorations, mazes or traps, set their own Pokemon battle rules, or even set it up into their personal Pokémon Gym. Secret Bases were originally part Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire when released on the GameBoy Advanced and was the most eye-catching feature introduced of the games.

With the Nintendo 3DS’s StreetPass feature and QR Codes, players will be able to share their Secret Bases with friends both locally and globally. When visiting other Secret Bases, players can meet other Trainers in the same base and invite them back to their own Secret Base as “Secret Pals,” allowing the player to interact and battle with them.Secret Pals will have special skills that can benefit players in their adventures, such as gaining new decorations, making a Pokemon Egg hatch faster, or chose a Pokemon to raise their level by one. The more Secret Pals you gain, the more special skills you’ll have access to.

Players can acquire flags when visiting other player’s Secret Bases, which are located beside the Secret PC in each Secret Base. Collecting flags will earn the player a higher rank, which in return, players will further improve their Secret Pals’ special skills.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire is scheduled to release for Nintendo 3DS on November 21 in North America and November 28 in Europe.
