And this kids, is why we ALWAYS look both ways before crossing a street.

If you don't, you might end up like the guy in this video, getting launched through the air when some moron slams into you with his car, as captured on security camera footage.

Glad to hear you didn't get hit, that it was just an "almost". I bet you are really careful now when crossing streets.

I changed the title to give you a little more freedom with the posts, and I hope you use it wisely by posting more safety do's and don'ts. :D

So that's what I've been doing wrong all these years.

But on a serious note: I'm all for safety awareness, but if you're going to advise on something that could make the difference between life and death, I think you ought to do it properly.

If I literally followed your advice, is there not a still some chance I might get hit by a transport while crossing some road/street? Surely nobody in the right mind looks "both ways when crossing a street", but rather, both ways before crossing so that they have sufficient time to avoid on-coming traffic.

On balance however, I should commend you for what is otherwise a well-intentioned (and in other respects entertaining) thread.

Actually, I do. I start looking before crossing and I keep checking both directions as I cross. This comes from living top of a hill with a road that has many turns that people love to speed on, cars seem to pop up almost out of nowhere.

Ya, now that I think about it, what you do in crossing a road makes the most sense. Actually, I forgot that on a daily basis I too end up having to cross an awful road, which has a sharp bend and a row of parked vans on the inside of the bend; this creates a huge blind spot to oncoming traffic and there are no nearby crossings. Lol. Guess neither my nor AD5555's advice were all that sound in the end. XD

Well then, i feel like now i have a bigger fear of actually going to the outdoors. Geez, but thanks for the tips that people tend to forget.

Don't eat too much candy, or you could end up being all hyper, and when the sugar is used up, you'll feel drained. This isn't a matter of "life or death" as in my first safety tip, but it's still a good idea for healthy living. Check out this funny PSA that was produced back in the 1990s by Fox Kids for a humorous dramatization of what happens when you eat too many sweets.

BTICH, I never look both ways. Makes you look like a total wimp who's afraid of living life to the fullest. Cars should stop when you want them to

If you are old enough to drive a car, or ride a motorcycle, please don't try to act cool out on the road. Otherwise, this could happen to you.
