Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call which was released on April 24th, 2014 in Japan was said to be the last hythm-based, spin-off series, however it's not the last that you will hear from the game as Square Enix will make the game as a base for future additional content. This was said during a conversation with Ichiro Hazama and Polygon through his translator.
As the Final Fantasy franchise keeps growing with each addition, the developers will add new characters and music from these new series. According to Hazama, Curtain Call will make it easy to add that extra content. However, this would be the only way you would see new character and newer songs in a Theatrhythm Final Fantasy game.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is scheduled to release this September in North America.
