mine would have to be the shooter no not first person shooters im talking about space shooters. and the genra aint dead yet! games like gradius 5 are keeping it alive. give me a good ol arcade stick and a shooter and im happy as a pig in mud. and my runer up genras are fighting and platformers. but as great as games like street fighter 3 and mario sunshine are they got nothing on ikaruga. so what are your favorites?

i personaly like role playing games best and Fable is going to take the rpg to the next level

i also like the fighters (soul calibur, tekken, street fighter)

Sega: He's had that name for a few years. Not that fun to re-register just to alter one pesky little letter. But fine, i'll throw stones instead.

Genre genre genre.

My favourite genre is fighting games, and always will be.

My favourite genre is either rpg's (Love em') or first person shooters. I really got into first person shooters back when I used to play 007 on the 64, I had hours of fun playing that.

Rem
08-05-2004, 08:49 PM
so i guess no one likes shooters.

Matty

but tetris rules them all

Favorite genre..... hm.... gotta go with virtual reality rpg's... oh wait I haven't built that yet.... ummm then we go with anything old school, yeah that's a genre now..... RETRO

Heh, billions of different opinions going into this one. It's really a very good question.

I suppose RPG's would have to be the biggest and best, thanks to the basis of storyline and the easy control. But what really makes an RPG fun is when you throw in some Action/Adventure type control into the deal. Games like..

Kingdom Hearts..
Or Ragnarok Online..
Or Phantasy Star Online.

Games like that are always going to be the funnest to play.
But it's all in opinion and taste.

I don't think there is game that has mixed the action rpg well enough yet.... I mean kingdom hearts came close, but not as good as I would liked it to have been.

Ever play Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) ? If not, go and get a emulator and play it. That game so deserves a remake.

No, Square named the American SaGa games SaGa. The Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Legend of Mana, and Sword of Mana are all part of the Seiken Densetsu series. I think they're all action/adventure games, except for maybe FFA and LoM which I haven't played.

but yeah ... im tired of beating the hell outa sombody and theres no blood ...
go to the playstation site and look at the genres ... they got 'childrens' but no 'blood and gore'

RPG's of all caliber. But really, I love all games that are not sports games or racing games. Some racing games are awesome though, but most of them, like Gran Turismo and such, I simply find dull.

Final Fantasy Tactics!
Chrono Trigger!
Super Smas Bros. Melee!
Resident Evil 4!
