Just a shameless plug for my band, From The Shadows. This EP was written about Android 17. If anyone knows of any other Anime themed metal bands, please post them. I'd love to hear some others!

I don't know too many "anime themed death metal bands."

Although I do know some non-Japanese nerd bands, such as.


Darkthrone, the Norwegian 2-piece black metal band's drummer Fenriz has a solo project that dabbles more into the folk/viking/war themed sound. It's basically nerdy Lord of the Rings music. I know this site is more for the otaku version of a nerd, but for you folks that like the Lord of the Rings, elvish nerdyness, and metal music. Here you are.

Band Name: Isengard (named after Sarumans tower that overlooks Gorgoroth, the land of the Orcish armies. Some of their song names and album names are also in the Elvish language Sindarin. :)

Band Name: Summoning (The album, Minas Morgul, is actually named after "The Dead City", or the city of Nazgūl, from the Lord of The Rings series. They also have an album named after Dol Gurdur from LOTR. :3
