im a first persion shoter fan and while i was playing black ops i noticed that certan guns not onley killed people but dismemberd there arms and legs and im a fan of vilant games but you must draw the line somewhere the way i see it shooting off arms and legs is where i draw the line. i think it was mainley the shotgun and machine guns that shot off the limbs but still. think about it having an arm shot off slowey bleeding out where is the humanity?

Nope, I'm all for dismemberment in games. :3
I am especially a fan of the perk in Fall Out 3 which gives you 5% extra damage and the ability to make bodies explode. With limbs being blown off and everything. :D

I'm glad you don't make games.

I don't play 1st person shooters, but my favorite video game series is pretty violent (American McGee's "Alice" series). In the first one you kill the Duchess with fire, fire, and more fire (You can use others, but I find that's the best method, at least.) after she tries to eat you, and the top half of her head flies off, one side spewing out blood and the other side a stream of pepper. I find it entertaining and fun. ^.^

Or my friend and I used to spend hours watching her step-brother play Darkwatch, mostly because it was entertaining when the witches would show up and he'd shoot their heads and blow them up. :p

The majority of NES/SNES fighting games.
Conker's Bad Fur Day.
Borderlands.
Borderlands 2.

They're video games. They all have this stuff. People actually complained that it doesn't happen so much in Borderlands 2 (including myself). They're video games. I need say no more.

I personally don't see a line in terms of gore, in a FPS. I mean they are rated in terms of age for a reason. But speaking from a general point of view there are lines that need to be drawn. Anything to do with child pornography or similar in my opinion is wrong and shouldn't be included, in any games no matter what the rating. Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but there isn't any game with anything like that, right?

Ok, I understand your opinion, but the way I see it, there is a flaw with your statement which can be corrected and two more alternative answers.

A) In the game of Black Ops, if you first did the set-up to the game (which is when it requires you to adjust the size of the screen and such), the game asks you a VERY important question: Whether you want to disable the "Gore" feature the game has. If the game's gore is disturbing you, then simply disable it by going into the setting menu and alter such section...

B) Games like Dead Space, where gore is extremely common, is a necessary factor to have. Whats the point in having something slashing at you and not have a head fly off to give it a realistic feel.

C) Like ones above have said, if you find gore repulsive, simply just don't play the game at all...

Or, you know, don't dismember people in games...
