If your friend know you're an anime fan. What is your reaction when you been insult about it.

In my case, there are some of my friend say that I watching a hentai or pornography stories every time I watching an anime.

They think that "anime=hentai"

For this kind of person, they think the anime fan are pervert and I absolutely hate about this kind of attitude...

Will someone help me how to give advice for this kind of person????

Don't take it to heart. People say and do stupid things sometimes.

If they're a friend, have them watch a good anime with you. Introduce them to the world of anime. If they're not a friend, forget 'em. If they know about anime, nine times out of ten, they're only talking about what they actually do.

Well my group of friends all have very different hobbies and we all rip each other off about it, but between friends it means nothing personal so as said above, don't take it to heart, unless they seriously are judging you, but if they are friends I'm sure it's all in jest. But a simple explanation will always do, there is no need to yell at them or freak out about it. And showing them a good series or two is always a good start if you want to educate them a little, or better yet wean them onto a series by showing them the abridged series first.

Learn not to give two craps about what they say.

My dad actually thought that same thing when he first found out I liked anime. Oh that was an awkward drive home....

But, as far as dealing with it, as others have said, don't take it too personally. Show them a bit of a good series, and show them that it's not all hentai. Or you could try telling them that even Pokemon and Digimon are technically anime since those are pretty well known already.

And if they're not a friend, just ignore them.

Tell em' its animated and not all hentai, just like every form of entertainment that you watch.
I mean it's common sense! With that said, tell em' they are dumb. They might get angry.. So you tell them to stop being dumb by acknowledging that not every anime is hentai.

are you 13 or is english a foreign language to you? must be the latter, because i remember speaking perty well at age 13.

your friends are clearly ignorant or just doing what friends do and harping on you for doing something not entirely socially acceptable (watching anime). people do the same thing to me, but they're not really serious, just f*cking with me and i recognize that.

The fact that they think anime is hentai probably means they have watched hentai porn. Just tell anyone that the next time they say that.

Well I usually don't get insulted by my friends because they watch anime themselves. Actually, when I was in high school it was always those "cool kids" who made fun of us for always acting weird and fun lol :P

I've never had it happen directly to me personally, but I've seen people who equate "watches anime" or "listens to Japanese music" with "weeaboo," which in my definition is someone who calls themselves an otaku, yet doesn't really know much Japanese outside nekomimi, baka, and shine, and hasn't watched many animes or read many mangas outside, say, Bleach or One Piece. I acknowledge people like that exist who watch anime, my best friend's a big user of otaku and baka herself, but that doesn't automatically mean every anime fan is also a weeaboo.

Saying that sounds like an iffy idea lol. Chances are they probably haven't or saw a quick video come up and left the video.

I am lucky enough to have a couple good friends who also watch anime as well which seems to stop our other friends from ripping on it too much, we do occasionally get that misunderstanding that since we watch anime that must mean we watch hentai but I think small amounts of ignorance like that is not something to get worked up over all you can do about it is try to inform people who have misunderstandings like this about the differences.

If someone who describes every anime as Hentai when you bring up the subject or vice-verse, is obviously an ignorant prick who doesn't know what they are possible talking about, Or, 9.9/10 chance they are saying it to try and cover up the fact that they watch a ton of the stuff. Honestly, If your friend can't accept your hobby and will just be an asshole about it, he's most likely not your friend. Or, you could try showing him a good anime and introducing him to our world and see what happens from there.
