I'm not a big novel reader, but i truly love what of The Witcher novels have an English translation (The Last Wish, Blood Of Elves and Times of Contempt [Once that it gets realeased at some point this year]) I guess that came from how much i enjoy the story when i played the Witcher games.

For good character development and interaction I highly recommend Lois McMaster Bujold. Her Vorkosigan Saga is fun - that's SF, and The Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls (fantasy) are among the best fantasy I've read.

For other exciting fantasy, try Brandon Sanderson (yea, he's the guy who took over for Robert Jordan and finished The Wheel of Time series.). His Mistborn Trilogy is basically high fantasy meets wire-fu in its execution, and the magic system is pretty awesome. The sequel book, Alloy of Law, is basically fantasy meets the wild west (without the zombies of the Deadlands RPG setting).

Beyond that - George R.R. Martin, Elizabeth Moon, Jennifer Roberson, Kristin Britain, and Brent Weeks are all decent reads, too.

My 2 yen,

Akiosama

At first I thought this said "Final Fantasy Novel". I was about to die from excitement overload lol.

Off the top of my head, I think my favorites would be The Inheritance Cycle from Christopher Paolini, and "The Talisman" from Stephen King. The Dark Tower series is really awesome as well. Then there's "The Hobbit" and the LoTR trilogy... But there's also The Vampire Chronicles from Anne Rice, especially "The Vampire Lestat"...

Let's just say I really like Fantasy. =D

1) Harry Potter... need I even elaborate... these books are the reigning champion of fantasy!
2) Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs... if you like a good urban fantasy, I would highly recommend this series. It's got a little bit of everything. More so a series for females, but still good nonetheless.

Mine are mostly repeats: ASOIAF, Inheritance series (yay for whoever else said this one as well ^^) and The Sword of Truth series.

Chronicles of the Necromancer by Gail Z. Martin were pretty amazing.

On a side note: am I the only one who HATED reading LoTR? They read so much like Dickens that it was pulling teeth to finish that series. However, do not confuse my use of hate for hating LoTR in general. I love the movies :>

I binge read the first four Song of Ice and Fire books in a couple of months. I didn't realize the story wasn't going to end :(

I recommend Monster by A. Lee Martinez. Easy read, light, funny with wacky villains and heroes.
Also just finished The Mark by Ino Lee. Worth checking out. It has tons of fighting in it with ninjas, demons, Shaolin warriors, sumos, etc.

The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. It's absolutely brilliant. Although that's about all the fantasy I've read aside from a little bit of David Eddings (which I didn't really like).
