Has anyone of you read Phantom of the Opera? I have read it and I think it has a meaning behind everything. Like symbolism or something. Mind voicing out your opinions?

oooh gurl I could go on for hours about that book. I positively loved it for one. I haven't read it in years though. I was like 16 when I read it and that was six years ago. There was tons of symbolism in that book, and it was dark and scary. Let me find it and reread it and then I'll come back and tell you what I thought of it.

I thought it was sad. Gaston Leroux was a brilliant Writer.

Phantom of the Opera is one of my top favourite books
and the story that has been butchered the most in ALL adaptations >< (both film and theatrical)
The teachings (I like to call them as such) are many, Erik is just a character that you first want to hate but in the end you sympathize with him. I dislike how in the adaptations they never show his true self
I'm referring to:
his last words by the end of the book and how he was so happy
