Yes, your reputation as an anime fan is at risk here! Show that you are the superior and all-knowing anime picker-outer!

Well, what I mean to say is... Can someone give me a good recommendation for some really good anime? I'm looking for UNLICENSED anime only. I have no interest in the stuff I can just go out and rent and/or buy in America right now. (Exceot Last Exile, good stuff!)

Thanks to anyone that can help. Everybody that doesn't...you suck. ;_;

Look for Zettai Kareshi by Yuu Watase. It's interesting. A little more open than her other manga but it's very good.
Houshin Engi is good. I don't know if it's out where you live. It's really good. I like it.
violinist of Hameln. It's good as well. ^_^
Agreement of the Glass Shoes is very cute as well.

Try these then:

Kono Minikuku Mo Utsukushii Sekai
Grenadier - Hohoemi No Senshi
Kannazuki No Miko (this one was created by Kaishaku so this should be pretty good ^^)

Jungle wa Itsumo Hale (Hare) Nochi Guu ---This is funny and addictive and downright insane.

100 Stories ---Creepy, macabre, deals a lot with Japanese myths

Well...they're all licensed, so I'm assuming you mean picked up by, say, the U.S. and dubbed etc.

Haibane Renmei (Far better than Lain and not out yet, correct?), Legend of Basara (The manga has been picked up, but the anime is not out), Hameln the Violinist (It would be an oddball series for any company to pick up..), and Rose of Versailles (So so SO good) would be my top selections. All excellent.

Haibane Renmei is out, actually. Has been for a while. It's not quite so easy to find new things not being released here in the US. They buy the rights up rather quickly now.

Anyway, you may want to try Samurai Champloo... It seemed interesting, what bit I watched. By the makers of Cowboy Bebop.

Yup. Was released by Pioneer a while ago. The street date for the first DVD was August of 2003.

I'm curious to see if Tek is actually checking out any of the recs...

If you're looking for really good manga, check out X-Day, Confidential Confessions, Kindaichi Case Files, and Chobits <also anime>. Those are my pics.
