Over the years I've seen so many anime shows its getting hard to find something new and refreshing. Any suggestion on what to watch?

I'm not sure exactly what you've watched or what you go in for, but here's a few..unique experiences I've had, whether unique in presentation, story, etc...
Rahxephon: a mech show that's more about the characters than anything else, and lets the slice of life flow freely at times.
Bakemonogatari: I've only just begun watching this, but it's essentially a harem from what I gather, except it's presented very..artistically. Looks fabulous.
Redline: Hand drawn animation has still got it, and this racing/scifi movie is gob-smackingly drawn.
Irresponsible Captain Tylor: Its titular character is either a lucky idiot or a very hidden genius captaining a spaceship in a serious world, breaking the ice wherever he goes in a sheen of deadpan glory.
Texhnolyze: Again, only just begun watching this show, but color me intruigued- at the very least its presentation is out of the ordinary in my eyes, and the harshness of its world is far removed from any colorful highschool.
Satoshi Kon's movies & his 'Paranoia Agent'.

Hey OP maybe you could do your part to list some of the shows you have liked best and give the board a heads up on what youve seen.

Durarara!! is a good, nice, hip, modern, and stylish anime with amazing characters and a good story involving a kid getting involved in gang wars and weird supernatural beings, including a headless motorcyclist and and strange violent being known as the Slasher.
Bakemonogatari is good. It's not a harem though, like what was mentioned earlier. It's also very different in that there is a lot of weird flashes during the show showing screens with a few words on them before going back to the show and there is a ton of talking in it with little actual movements and things going on.

Yeah, it'd be helpful if we had a list of what you've watched, but... if you're looking for something new and refreshing I would recommend Attack on Titan(Shingeki no Kyojin). It's an anime from the 2013 spring season, and is absolutely amazing. It's still ongoing and four episodes have been released of this post, but it is really good. For the last couple years or so, I haven't been too impressed with the animes coming out since they all seemed to be similiar to past series. However, this one is very unique with its own twists and original plot. So, it's defintely something worth checking out.

Durarara! It's a mixture of everything.. and it's not that long. When you finish it, you can start to branch off from there based on your interests.

I'd suggest Tenchi Universe, the second season of Tenchi Muyo. It's got comedy, romance, action, sci-fi, it's got everything.

Hey I'm new here too but I think you should give the Black Lagoon series a try. The 3 seasons are definitely worth watching, well 2 and a half due to only 5 episodes for season 3 Roberta's Bloodtrail. It's awesome!

Well my advice for stuff you could watch are:

Black Lagoon, Deadman Wonderland, C the money of soul and possibility control, Toradora, Another, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Gintama (is back), Magi, Btoom!, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru, Ao no Exorcist, Sankarea, Great Teacher Onizuka, Saiyuki, Psychopass, Beelzebub, Ben-to, Area no Kishi, Angel Beats, Mashiro-Iro Symphony, Mirai Nikki, the list goes on lol. If you wanna be friends then I can tell you I've watched so far.

Black Rock Shooter is entertaining if you skip all the schoolgirl scenes and only watch the action scenes.
