And I don't mean cocaine and such illegal drugs.

A girl that young shouldn't have the hormones present in her body that would allow her uterus and ovaries to be functional. Only some kind of exposure to hormone treatment or other chemicals that might stimulate puberty could accomplish that. My though is it has to do with drinking water being polluted with industrial and/or medical chemicals, due to poor environmental regulations in Mexico.

That is awful! I've actually read that in areas where people eat a lot of hormone-treated meat, girls are reaching puberty much younger as a result of ingesting those growth hormones. Poor girl, I hope they find the guy that did that to her!

It said the guy was 17. That's WAY too old to be messing with an 8yo. At first I thought the story was gonna say the guy was about the girl's own age, but nope, he's in his upper teens. That's so perverted. Technically he's not an adult as he's under 18, but he's SO much older than that very young girl, so I think he should be tried in court as an adult and given the same sentence an adult would get for having sex with a child.

It's UNNATURAL for puberty to start as young as 8 though.

No it isn't. Start around age nine. Some get it a bit early like was the case for her and others get it a bit later. For boys it's around age ten that it starts. Again some earlier and other later. It's bad she got pregnant when she did but it doesn't have anything to do with what she's putting in her body. It's still within the norm. And if you read the article it even said that's normal for that age group in that area.
