Personally I liked the newest one, The Ultimate Spider-man, that aired recently. The fact that the Man of Action team wrote for it and they used the comics as some inspiration for a few episodes was awesome! There was even an episode where wolverine( voiced by Steve Blum) and spidey switch bodies! However, the old 90s stuff was classic, I don't like them nearly as much.

The 90s series also used stories based on the comic and had episodes with ALL the X-Men as well. I have not gotten the chance to watch Ultimate because I live overseas at the moment and is not aired where I live in japan. But I grew up on the 90s series and love they got the Aerosmith guitarplayer to do the theme song which was bd ass. I know the episode where Wolvie and Peter switch bodies is from an Ultimate comic and it was because of Jean Grey.

I just wish Ultimate spidey was more popular (TV show); The reviewers really tanked on it so I doubt it'll make it on any other networks. animation is my favorite medium; not much of a comic fan, those issues can really add up in price. However 90s spidey is awesome in its own respects and they probably did the best they could animation-wise for its time period; however, after watching only a few episodes, its age really showed through. Its not bad by any extension of the imagination, its just not my favorite.

It is funny that in the 1990s series, there is an episode during his mutation saga in which the 1993 World Trade Center bombing was referenced.
