IRL Epic Fail!

At an Arab wedding in Saudi Arabia, there was celebration gunfire, but one of the bullets cut a high voltage powerline and it fell down onto a metal door. In panic, people ran through the door trying to escape, and got electrocuted in the process. In the end, 24 people were dead and 30 were injured.

What ever happened to blanks?

As one who shoots firearms often one of the main rules is always know your target and whats around it. Shooting a live round aimlessly is just plain reckless. Thats just terrible they all got electrocuted though, you'd think after the first few went down that people would wise up, even if they are unfamiliar with electricity. When it comes to foreign news though I dont know if we get 100% accurate account of what happened. I mean if most all of them died by electrocution while attempting to escape through an energized metal doorway... that must have been one big pile of bodies in a doorway. I mean after like 5 or six bodies piled up at a doorway how did the other 20 people even get too it?

Chances are they didn't know that current could flow through a dead body and into someone else, so they probably tried moving the corpses, and were then electrocuted themselves. Also, less than half died. 25 died, but 30 were just injured.

I'd call it sweet irony, but I some would beg to differ.
