I don't think that is Sousuke Sagara. There is no scar on his left cheek (his left).

Fair enough but this hair on this guy is regular brown, a little on the lighter side I would say. The hair is nothing like Sagura's.

It's in no way Sousuke. His hair is much too light and even considering the missing scar, Sousuke has hash marks on his cheeks. And Sousuke smiles all the time; remember the first episode when he's recounting all the military magazines he enjoys? Huge smile on his face, and it's not all that rare.

The character looks pretty familiar - I think I've seen him before in a mech anime, but I can't recall which one at this time, sorry.

You obviously cant read, or completely ignored the OP who posted a picture of Yoshitaka Waya from Hikaru no go, not Haruhi. The picture of Haruhi came another member as an example of an "anime smile"
