I'm Back!!

[Tasuke]

hi, i doubt that there's anyone that remembers me,
but i was active for a brief period maybe two or three years back.


i'm a veteran Otaku, pretty much beginning with MACROSS/ROBOTECH
in my early teens, back in the early 1990's.

i gravitated towards Mecha/sci-fi Anime for the balance of the 90's,
and was in prime place to enjoy the "Great U.S. Anime Boom" of the early/mid 2000's.

today, there are a great number of series, vintage and not-so-vintage,
that i greatly enjoy, and always will.

i very much like many earlier Moe works, but most of today's current standards
are just a little too left of my preferred center, i fear.

Wow, that's a great collection. Seeing VHS certainly brings back memories. And I see you love Mikuru! She is pretty adorable. I also really enjoyed Ai Yori Aoishi, I don't see it mentioned very often. Aoi-chan was one of my fave characters ever! I love how classy she is and how she tries so hard and always has a smile on her face!

yeah... Ai Yori Aoshi was basically my first ever romance Anime. i started it as it was first being released around 2003-ish,
and enjoyed what i saw so much that i stuck through the 2nd season as well, which, unfortunately, isn't quite as good as the first.

myself, i would've preferred the series to stay sharply focused on Aoi and Kaoru's relationship,
rather than head off into stereotypical Harem Anime tropes after the first couple-three eps or so.

regardless, it IS a woefully underrated series, all too often condemned as a poor-man's Ah My Goddess at best...
