Well, I know that this isn't an anime song XD (it's a song from Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger), but I really love it~

Well, I really want to have a (good) translation of this song, so look at my translation and see if it matches up to what the song generally says (it doesn't need to be too literal; as long as the message comes through, that's all I care about).

Kanji:

My Translation:

In your feelings
You can always be yourself
Even if it's a little scary
Is it really so hard to do?

The color of the sky when I suddenly looked up at it
Is inside of the pink flowers
For some reason, my heart is beating fast
Have I received some courage? (I don't know what the っけ means...)

Hey, look, try to believe in yourself
Because there is a path inside of you
So, open up your eyes and see the morning, ah...
And the new you will more, more, seem
Mm... to sparkle

Surely fate is something
That I control?
From the time that they are born,
Everyone is walking towards their future

Even if you don't hurry, still, bit by bit
You'll look forward and start walking
Your gentle voice, your smiling face
They all surround me

Hey, look, remember this, don't forget it
Because this is the start of your dream
So, that one step you took, ah...
Will always, always, seem
Mm... to draw the new you

Hey, look up at the stars in the night sky
They'll never go out, they'll always shine
That'll always, always, be my past, my present, ah...
And my future

Try to believe in yourself
Because there is a path inside of you
So, open up your eyes and see the morning, ah...
And the new you will more, more, seem
Mm... to sparkle

Thanks ~

In your feelings
You can always be yourself
Even if it's a little scary
Is it really so hard to do?

The color of the sky when I suddenly looked up at it
Is inside of the pink flowers (see 1)
For some reason, my heart is beating fast
Have I received some courage? (I don't know what the っけ means...) (See 2)

Hey, look, try to believe in yourself
Because there is a path inside of you (See 3)
So, open up your eyes and see the morning, ah...
And the new you will more, more, seem (See 4)
Mm... to sparkle

Surely fate is something
That I control?
From the time that they are born,
Everyone is walking towards their future

Even if you don't hurry, still, bit by bit
You'll look forward and start walking
Your gentle voice, your smiling face
They all surround me

Hey, look, remember this, don't forget it (See 5)
Because this is the start of your dream
So, that one step you took, ah... (See 6)
Will always, always, seem (See 7)
Mm... to draw the new you

Hey, look up at the stars in the night sky

^_^ It's a pretty good song. For this one, I didn't have any personal issues with your translation. There were a few sentences I couldn't help but throw in my two-pence, but in all honesty, there was only one sentence which didn't seem right. With red, I highlighted the lines that I had things to say about. I used green for the things that I just felt like mentioning, but didn't really need to. In the Comments below, I have numbered each one to make it easier to find and refer back to.

If I'm posting a thread for help, I figured I may as well help someone who's thread didn't receive any help. I guess I just don't like the thought of things left unanswered. Anyways, carry on enjoying the music, and take my comments with a grain of salt; I'm still learning new things all the time about japanese or maybe forgetting them >_<

Anyways, without further ado:
Comments:

1. に has a meaning akin to the english 'at'. For もらう, に works in a similar way to から, giving the idea that the gift came from that place. Therefore, it may mean that the flowers gave her courage and made her heart beat.

2. The っけ, according to rikai-kun (a chrome plugin that makes reading japanese a bit easier), it is a particle that indicates someone trying to remember some information. e.g, did those flowers give me courage...?

3. This sentence has the implication that the singer believes that 'there's a path there'. The japanese love to be ambiguous, because one can never be certain of something, so the word はず implies a very strong expectation that it will be true (and as far as I recall, this assumption is usually based on prior experience).

4. Throughout this song, the singer seems to be addressing herself, although possibly an audience as well. Anyways, in that sentence, she sings わたし. In others, I definitely get the vibe of her addressing other people.

5. Another option for this part is 'remember and don't forget'

6. そう 歩き出した その一歩が あ・・・
Not sure about this one, but 歩き出した seems to say something like 'set out (on a walk)'. A thing I've notice about the ます stem of verbs (end with い), is that they are usually verbs turned into nouns. Thus, this sentence seems more like 'That first step when you started walking', not necessarily in those words.

7. For this one, it seems that 描き出す can also mean to 'imagine'. (to pull out a drawing from the mind)

Sorry for replying so late, but thank you so much for your help!

I've also learned a bit more about Japanese since I posted this, but all the things that hung me up still do. Thank you for helping for learn more :D!

The Japanese love to be ambiguous! Never has a truer statement been said.
