I'm trying to recall the name of this short:
This is an anime short. It could be part of a longer movie but I doubt it.
I saw this short around the 2000s, but it could be older.
It takes place in a dense urban area with lots of buildings.
There are two kids (a girl and a boy, if I recall correctly) that end up chased around the city by a monster. The monster sucks one of the kids (the boy I think) using some sort of giant vacuum-cleaner. I can't remember if the monster uses a vacuum-cleaner-like device or if the monster itself is the vacuum-cleaner.
After being sucked into the vacuum-cleaner the kid is expelled as some sort of creature that looks like a lobotomized ghost:

The other kid tries to revive the lobotomized kid to no avail, his brain is toasted.
In the end I think they defeat the monster by sucking it into the vacuum-cleaner.
