Was working on translating this song (http://www.animelyrics.com/jpop/does/akaisunday.htm) until I hit this:

会いたい想いがあふれるような
オムニア色の世界は
上の空
星の数ほどにも
月すぎた嘘

I realized I have no freaking clue how to say this in english. It's driving me crazy! Please help!

And if anyone wants, here's the complete kanji:

You're probably just confused by the last line.
My guess would be it's supposed to be つきすぎた嘘:
a lie told too many times (as many as the number of stars)

Is that the only problem? :D

think I should change the kanji lyrics too if others agree with my theory lol

Not so, it looks to be a brilliant wordplay on 'tsuki(ru)'. Together with 'uwa no sora'.

オムニア色の世界は
上の空
星の数ほどにも
月すぎた嘘

I agree that it's the line

>月すぎた嘘

that's making the passage difficult, and I also think that it seems to be a play on words.

>月過ぎた嘘 (the lies that passed by the moon)
>吐き過ぎた嘘 (the lies told too many times)

The interesting part is that if the former were the case (月過ぎた嘘), then the line preceding it (上の空) would be read more literally as 「うえのそら(the sky above)」, as in "the lies that passed by the moon...in the sky above".

However, if it were the latter (吐き過ぎた嘘), then 上の空 would be interpreted more psychologically as 「うわのそら (in a daze)」, as in "the lies told too many times...in a daze". So it seems like a sort of wordplay, as AzureDark-san has suggested.

Also, I think what AzureDark-san has in mind is that there could be another pun;

>尽き(すぎ)た嘘 (lies that have [passed and] run out)

although personally it seems like a bit more of a stretch.
