Sooooo I went to the fair last night and got 114 good photos.

I felt like editing in depth a few of my favorites.. So Ill post those first.. The rest will be added as I go.. @__@ As well as the original non photoshop versions of these too. I just really loved these so I'll feature them and use them to start off with.

Some cool stuff there, I'd love to see the unedited versions as well... Actually speaking of edits, have you tried one if the pseudo lomo ones? These sorts of bright colors and sharp angles really benefit from that treatment. I really like the angle of the second one btw, very dynamic shot!

Thanks though my "unedited" is still ran through iphoto >.> I sort of tweaked a few.. Some I couldn't resist.. But I'm not really familiar with the term "psuedo lomo" care to elaborate?? I didn't make it too far into my photography couse due to withdrawing from college a bit early.

I had sooo much fun taking pictures of all of the rides etc. I found it funny how the lights for the rides would be off, but as I started going up to them, they'd turn on.. I started taking pictures of "the zipper" and the guy stopped walked over to near where I was bent down.. and plugged in the lights... I was like =DDDDDDD ^__^ considerate carnies..

Continuing.. And if you want the legit true originals to any just let me know.. I can always hit the "revert to original" button on iphoto..But they aren't really edited that much except for the ones with the obvious warm tints etc..

Ah of course ^_^ Lomo was an old russian (well soviet) photography company. Overall they kinda sucked, the glass was pretty low quality, bodies let in light, all sorts of stuff. And that coalesced in the LC-A (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lomo_LC-A), their main shooter, released in 1984. The style of the camera was that the colors would be oversaturated, there'd be pretty high contrast, and high vignetting. (I actually have one of the 1980's released models of the LC-A)

The style became really popular, and people have been duplicating it in digital a lot, especially of late. I hope you don't mind, but I took one of your photos there, and re-worked it Lomo-style:

^^^ That looks nice ^____^ I'll have to look into more of that! Thanks for sharing it! Yeah, the fair is fun with high contrast stuff. With all the bright colors and lights..

Okay, so I have a lot to say about this thread. First of all, for some weird reason it made me want to listen to 'Sorry go round - Poets of the Fall' haha.
I like how you captured all the important elements of the fair: the colorfulness, the dynamics, and the fun. I also like it how you have a chronological setting to it, starting from afternoon, to evening,to night. The pictures just tempt the viewer to want to be there, Hell, I would've loved to be there! Basically you took us with you on your trip, through your pictures. Much appreciated are the overall pictures of the fair.
I gotta ask, was it just a usual fair or was it some festival?

Also, my favorite pictures were http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a49/victoriacre04057/_DSC0074.jpg and http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a49/victoriacre04057/_DSC0075.jpg for the way it looks so aerodynamic.
For the effect, my favourite one is http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a49/victoriacre04057/_DSC0088.jpg ,
and I like the perspective/focus on these two pictures: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a49/victoriacre04057/_DSC0238.jpg,

Thanks.. I had such a blast taking pictures of the rides words cannot even explain.. I walked around the fair twice [maybe even 3] but once during the day and again as it got dark.

Yes it was just a regular 3-4 week traveling fair. They go across the states. The group: http://www.wadeshows.com/events.asp

It goes 40mins away from me in about a week.. I'm very tempted to drive there and get more pictures.. But I don't want to spam anyone with a ton of fair pics.
