She-Ra (Princess Adora), the twin sister of He-Man, was the heroine of the cartoon show "She-Ra: Princess of Power.
She was intended to appeal to young girls in the same way as He-Man was made for young boys.

She-Ra is introduced in the animated movie The Secret of the Sword (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_of_the_Sword) as Force Captain Adora, an agent of the Evil Horde (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_Horde) that rules the planet Etheria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etheria_%28She-Ra%29). She discovers that she is the long-lost sister of Prince Adam of Eternia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternia), having been stolen by the Horde's leader, Hordak (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hordak), as a baby. She is granted the Sword of Protection, which parallels He-Man's Sword of Power, gaining the power to transform into She-Ra, her secret identity.[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She-Ra#cite_note-7)

I didn't even know this existed! O_O
Seems more female bias with all the pretty colors and all. I don't believe I saw this one aired on tv alongside he-man....ever

I found out about this show some years ago. I don't think it was ever shown in my country. He-Man was, but this is still fairly... "new" to me.

You can really see that the show is a old show, since a new cartoon for girls wouldn't be "allowed" to look that way today. He-Man had a palace with a big skull on it and then he had a big tiger accompanying him. What did She-Ra get in the female version? ... A palace with some "sparkle sparkle" on it, and a unicorn with wings! Hahah! Oh dear 80s... How we love your stereotypes. ~ xD
