Twilight Sparkle is my favorite. Oddly enough, I like fluttershy's voice. Though I think the girliest voice is pinkie pies. She is also the funniest.
My favorite moment is when rainbow dash did that rainbow thing at high speeds. Out of all the accents I heard, apple jack has the best. Rarity's special element is my favorite. So thats what I have to say about them.

Pinkie Pie is my favorite character, and 'Party of One' is my favorite episode.

Pinkie Pie reminds me a little bit of myself. That's not to say that I'm funny like her, there's just something about her.

I enjoy all of the characters, though. Wondering when we're going to get an episode that centers around Fluttershy or Applejack this season.

Oh, there are a bunch of animals in the series. Dogs, cats, owls, rabbits, griffins, dragons. Lots of random animals.

I could never choose just one pony. Its an all or nothing thing to me.

What I really do enjoy is the level of absurdity the fandom has gone to, especially with Ask Blogs for every pony and their dog. It certainly is fun to see all the different drawing styles one can think up for such simple pony designs. Also, the ponies are essentially vectors, which pleases me to no end.

Do you know anything about MLP: FIM? Its already been through 2 seasons, and its aired in over 10 different languages. Its been very successful.

Do you know anything about MLP: FIM? Its already been through 2 seasons, and its aired in over 10 different languages. Its been very successful.

Also of note is that the fanbase is primarily grown men between 18 and 35 (statistic more or less made up but also completely correct)

I know that this is horrible to say in the presence of so many fans, xD but I just can't stand the show!! I like the memes and comics about it but; I don't like the cartoon itself. I don't like the humor in it and I hate and despise the way it's drawn. I think it's aweful.

What can I say?

IM A FAN OF THE OLD MY LITTLE PONY SHOWS!!! The ones from the 80s and 90s (spec the 90s.... prrrr....~~), those I totally approve of - but this?? No no no no... aint gonna happen. I tried to watch some episodes of it when it was new but gave up almost immediately - this new version just isn't my cup of tea.

I may appear to be the world's biggest idiot now, but I must admit that since I wrote my last post (# 37) I have not really been able to stop thinking about my thoughts and reflections of this show. and I, to be brutal honest, actually think that some of the clips you've posted here has been really funny! Some even great! Heh, I think I am at the denial stage of my interest in the show right now O_o; but I figure if it can get me to keep watching it, there's bound to be a tipping point for you as well.
I had that issue with the new Star Trek movie, being a big trek fan, and having seen all of the original series, that the new one seemed hard to take just because it was new, with new actors taking up the roles that I've known for most of my life. I guess being a scifi fan, I am used to alternate unverses, and taking stuff on its own merits, without comparing it to the original until I've given it a chance first. Same with movies made from books that I like.

Hahah! So we are almost at the same level then? xD I know exactly what you are talking about, that's why Im currently feel so frustrated about all this. Because I know that if I sit down and really, really force myself to watch some more episodes of that show (instead of just a few) I will get into the show and then like it -or atelast that's what Im thinking right now. But, im just not there yet. Im not sure if it sounds silly or not, but right now I just can't make myself to click on the "watch" button. I think that, anyhow according to how I am right now, that people really need to force me into watching it - or else I don't think I ever will.

Still, I really do miss the old versions G1-G2... sigh. Aaaaaawwww childhood memories ~

You're not watching it because you're scared you won't like it, huh? Don't worry, it'll grow on you. It's not worse (better is debateable but for the sake of the argument I won't go into that), just different. It's cute, it's fun, it has its own fair share of epic adventures (but sadly not as many as G1 from what I remember) and you probably won't regret taking the time to aquire the taste if you really like the brand.

Personally I didn't like the '90s episodes. Really I only liked the first season of the original series; and the specials. Honestly, I was kinda avoiding Friendship is Magic at first, myself, after I had been disappointed by what we've been receiving, but I decided 'what the heck' cause I was bored and LOVED IT. Still, though, I'd get this from the original series...

This topic hasn't been posted in since early in the month? I can not let that continue!

Anybody watch the episode from earlier today? Honestly, I felt that it was definitely one of the best Season 2 episodes, and perhaps one of the better ones from the whole series. I just love episodes that feature the whole mane 6, and the characters were all pretty good in this episode. Especially Pinkie Pie.

Plus.. Finally an Applejack episode. Always felt kind of bad for her. Her anger in this episode can be justified (for reasons outside of the episode =P) by the fact that her sister has quite a few more episodes than her. Which is not fair when Applejack is one of the main characters!

The last ep. was meh. To me at least. It was good overall but really, Applejack had the worst reason to stay in that place.. even if she knew her town and friends will support her no matter what happened. And I wish they showed the actual competition. I guess Canterlot is like the Olympics for any event.
But whatever, one meh episode won't hinder my bronie ways.

Yeah, I heard people didn't like it for one reason or another, but I thought it worked well. Especially when she was yelling down to rainbow. And besides, it was a very cool thing of them to do. Next ep does look interesting, don't imagine that I'll be disappointed.

Really, though, I started watching it for compound reasons: It was summer and I was hugely crazily into Team Fortress 2. For some reason, MLP is pretty big on tf2, no idea why. Anyway, my friend irl invites me to a server for MLP fans; 90% of this was because the modded games they played were actually, genuinely more fun than regular shootshootkillkill tf2 servers (nothing to do with MLP, just fun). So I'm totally in love with this server, and it has nothing to do with what the people in there talk about. Eventually I'm laughing at some of the recurring jokes they have about the show, even when I didn't understand the origins, just the context. So I'm kinda leaning toward watching this show.

I finally broke down and did it, but only because:
-That tf2 server
-Internet was having some huge orgy over it, pictures all over the place, I'm like "wtf, why are they posting ponies, this is kinda funny?"
-My friend HATED the show. We love to mess with him and make him mad, so this only made me want to watch it more.
-I'm not one to judge a book by its cover.

In the end, absolutely no regrets. Love the show, really witty, love the artstyle, super colorful. It's kind of like Spongebob in that you wouldn't expect a kids' show to have such genuine humor. And the music, I can't get over some of the songs. Like, listen to them while doing artwork or homework- it's legitimately good. I've always like shoujo, so it doesn't surprise me too much, but I completely understand how people would have 2nd thoughts about it.

HOWEVER, the show's producer and lead creative developer was/stillkindais Lauren Faust, which is hugely awesome considering her resume- Power Puff Girls, Foster's Home, Kid's Next Door, IRON GIANT. I don't think a lot of people know that, but I think that if they did they'd reconsider their opinions on the show.

I know a lot of people who love this show...one in particular who is a grown man and is obsessed with it. I haven't watched it, and I doubt I will get into it. I think that is largely because the original show used to be on TV when I was a child, and I loved it then. I don't like change, so I don't like remakes of my childhood cartoons. I'd rather them just show repeats of the original show.

Bronies don't bother me whatsoever. When I think of bronies I automatically think of a new generation of powerpuff fanboys/girls which I find quite satisfying. Although it was suppose to appeal to a certain age group, I feel as if the show has some particular quality that makes it much more enjoyable for "more then just the average child" so with that addressed. MLP has always been something I can sit down with some popcorn and watch on hub.

Not to get confused with the MLP thread, I am looking at MLP:FiM "from an exploratory research perceptive to uncover the effects of MLP: FIM with anime fans" Deathblade/13.666's words, I couldn't of said it better myself, about how the show has sparked such inspiration in many people to create so many new pieces of work, and why MLP:FiM has had the success that it has over many other shows. How do people see the animation strictly from artwork perspective, how do people consider the music from the show either good or bad based on how the music was composed. I would like to converse about how artists view the show from an overall standpoint as well. This is an article I wrote and posted on my blog (http://cosplay386.tumblr.com), I figured that there may be people here would like to talk about the production of the show from an artistic standpoint. Don't bother posting a pic of your pony if you do not want to, mainly for those who are following my blog.

Take a man from Indiana, his friend admitting he is a major brony. He is shown the first episode of the show, things nothing of it really. A few months pass and the mental toll of the show starts to call his name. He finally gives in.

A man once a hater is turned into a brony. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a show aimed with the target audience of younger girls during childhood years, but has just a big a fanbase of adult males in their late teens to early twenties. The show follows six main characters, but first introducing Twilight Sparkle, a purple unicorn pony with the power to use magic. Each of the six main characters represent an "element of harmony" including loyalty, honesty, laughter, generosity, kindness, and the sixth being magic itself.

The show is guided to try to show different elements of forming long lasting friendships and bonds with others, but at the same time also seems to capture the eyes of artists. The Friendship is Magic arc is completely separate from the Hasbro My Little Pony which has been created in the 1980s and 1990s. The arc's creator is Lauren Faust who has also worked on other shows such as The Powerpuff Girls and Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. Faust has not just help create a show, but she has helped bring together people from all over the world.
MLP:FiM for short, even has helped create some various rules of the internet (Will discuss these at a later time) Rule #34.2 "There are ponies of it, no exceptions." and also Rule 35.2 "If no pony is found of it, it will be made.", among a few others. These rules are very true as people have even created a new genre of music from the show, called Ponystep. Ponystep is a genre of music that is a combination of dubstep music and music (or even a single word) from the show. To give an idea of just how much ponystep is out there, I know that Selena Gomez, a celeb with about 30 million fans, has 3 albums of music, and a discography of about 40ish official songs she produces the vocals for solely. Remixes that I have found are at 176, I check every few days. Let's compare that to the thousand plus songs I have come across on the internet of Ponystep and ponyifed music. Much much much power of inspiration has been given off from the show. Such crossovers like My Little Portal, a combination of the show and Portal which is a puzzle game first released on the Orange Box for the Xbox gaming system, have been created. Many online 3-D games, including some MMORPGs have been created, and games such as Legends of Equestria or fanfics like Rainbow Factory have gathered lots of interest.

New York City is home to a lot of things, include the once world renown Pokemon Center. It is now home to BronyCon, a convention held every few months with an exponentially growing attendance and has created the multi hundred thousand dollar documentary film that focuses on fans of the show and the convention itself. This is a film that is right now planning to be released in the year 2013 to the public theaters across the United States.

The staff has created not only a great show, but have taken Ponies and created a realistic society that they can live and thrive in. The staff has to think of how humans do each of the millions of simple little tasks we do each day, and then figure out how a Pony would do that very same action. The camera angles shown are simple but they do a great job of letting the viewers see just how a Pony does some of those simple tasks. The colors are very bright and help set the overall vibe of the show. The music in the show is very well made, and the voice actors are not usually the ones to do the singing in an episode that contains a song. Not every episode has a song but there are episodes that contain a few short little jingles or a full length song. For the most part the songs are two to three minutes, but on rare occasion a song excess of four minutes is injected into the show. The songs also are worked into the storyline very well and it is hard to predict when the next song or jingle may be heard by a pony. A big thing is the Characterization and progress of development of each individual character background or not. Even the background characters make cameo appearances in each episode and many fans of the show enjoy watching and pointing out each appearance in each episode. There has been a pony, given the name Derpy by fans of the show that had been given lines in the show, and when voice acted did not go over well with parents of children of the show. The character's voice was then redone in the show and even though this may have been a setback for many others cartoons, this show has suffered almost no negativity from the incident, mainly to how the staff went about the issue and resolving it properly.

The most important thing is the keep and open mind. To watch the show, the first two seasons which are completed, awaiting the third season while in production, it does much more than let you say, "Oh, yeah I've seen the show". After watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic there are fistfuls of neat, exhilarating fanfics, drawings, crossovers, music, and videos including Ponies the Anthology I and II, which are shorts from various music video and very short clips of audio set to clips of the show.

More than show, it is a piece of art that continues to gain many new fans each day, and more and more crossovers, songs, fanfics, games, and videos are created from the show all the time. Also feel free to post your favorite picture or pony meme from the show/created from the show.

I saw a documentary on msnbc about adult entertainment.. and the narrator said that a large number of underaged kids are exposed to adult stuff (whether R rated movies or porn) at one point of their lives. In regards to common sense, yes it's bad that kids are watching "bad" stuff, but to avoid being a hypocrite, I've watched rated R movies before even becoming a teen.

Being a Brony doesn't have any negative connotation on it's own, it's just people (mainly haters and anti-deviants) that give any kind of negativity to it. Yes I'm a grown man, yes I am a fan of the show.... so what? You sir, made a thread in the general anime/manga forum, wanting an anime figurine that's mostly pink in color. There is nothing wrong with that. Only people that expect you to get a "manly" item will put you in the wrong.

I'm a fan of Pinkie Pie...and i'm 27 years old.

Wanna know why I watch? Because after i had my beautiful daughter i had some of the worst post partum depression and it was MLP what kept me going- because it always made my daughter laugh. She's 7 months now and will smile and giggle at the theme song and everytime Pinkie comes on the screen.

I like the show because it means something to my family.

As to you diptards who think only little girls can like it, please kindly go pound sand. A person can be a fan of whatever makes them happy. Tis' one of my favorite cartoons, this one. I feel season 3 was a little weak, but the show still isn't bad. My favorite episodes were the last two of season 2. I like the darker more dramatic atmosphere where the enemies seem threatening and the bad guy isn't defeated by the elements of harmony.
My favorite character is Fluttershy. I love it when people are kind and I'm very shy myself.

Animation Styles have been copied since the early days of cartoons prior to animation, and that's practically universal. If it's published/produced, and someone likes it; odds are it will be imitated and duplicated eventually.

Its not made in Japan, or by the Japanese. It has a *comic*, not a manga. Its being translated and dubbed in dozens of countries which doesnt make it: Italian, French, German, Spanish, etc.

The studio owns 3 animation studios: One in Canada and two in the Philippines, where each studio works on a single episode at a time [thus three episodes being made at once], all of which is specified by the writing/design/storyboard/etc team in California.

The comic is done by American artists and writers, ie [again] the Japanese have nothing to do with it.

Its not an anime. Just because it has big anime eyes doesnt mean anything.

Most of the time though if I wiki the show in question it'll tell me "American Animation/Cartoon" or have a country of origin listed in it. But there are cases of multiple countries creating shows, and I just try to use sound judgement when Japan in included in that.

I watched the movie. I thought the animation was really bad. There were many errors and over-all it was a poorly done animated film. I don't know why it was so poorly done despite the fact it was a theatrical released movie... You'd then think they'd make up for it with the plot. NOPE.jpg. Generic plot, if you watched the trailer you basically have the whole movie down.

As for the comic. I've seen bits and pieces of pages floating around I haven't actually read all of them though. I owned a version but I gave it away to a friend before opening it.

I'm a little disappointed that the Equestria Girls series seems unlikely at this point.

I'd personally still like to see at least one confirmed lesbian couple this season. One kiss, even in the background. SOMETHING.

I remember trying the show out about a year ago. Then about 2 months later I found out that college freshmen who want to be "different" is the main audience, so I stopped watching. It's an OK show, I get why they like it, but it's not my thing.
