How Long Have You Been Watching Anime?

I started watching anime in about year 10.. (actually it was before that cause I was watching Pokemon and DragonBall Z, but I dont include it because I was unaware it was anime at the time..)
So it has probably been about just under 5 years, I think. First anime I watched and liked was D.N.Angel.. A bit different to what I tend to watch now. xD

i watched dbz, digimon, pokemon, and trigun back when i was around 11-12... but i hadnt watch ANY since then... ive only been watching anime again for the past year. im 21 now

I started watching anime back in 1999 which means I started when I was 7 or 8. The first anime I watched was Digimon. Although I stoppped watching anime from 2003 up till the March of 2010 mostly due to lack of interest and the ones that were on TV (Well the TV Channels I watched) were crap ones or ones that didn't interest me because most of it were cute girly moe animes for little girls and I think there was a Megaman anime that I saw one episode of and didn't like (Not to mention I was never a Megaman fan. Nor am I one now)

I started watching anime when I was about 8-10 years old. I watched Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Digimon and Cardcaptors (I now prefer the Japanese verison of Cardcaptors but that's a different story...) Then when I was 14 or 15 I started watching Inuyasha and after that I got into exploring the net and watching other anime in Japanese with subtitles. And that's how I started to watch a lot of other anime that I love now as I grew older. It would take me forever to list all the anime I've ever watched so I'm not going to do that. I've been watching anime since I was 8 or 9, though it wasn't the typical stuff they showed on Tv at the time (though I did watch pokemon, salior moon, digimon and so on) It all started with Ranma 1/2, Deminion Tank Police, Project A-Ko, Bubblegum Crisis 2040. Hard to believe it's been sooo many years :D

Shaman King is my first favorite anime. :)
From that time I started downloading and watching more animes ,and i joined this wonderful forum!:D

Yeez I feel like a late bloomer. I did not start watching anime seriously until I was 19..
Of course I saw some anime movies and series like pokemon etc before that. But I was not really aware of my attraction to anime until I saw Love Hina.

The fun thing is I was a conscript in the army at the time and I remember it quite well. My roommates would go hush me when I started roll-laughing by watching poor Kentaro getting smacked around :laugh:

Since that time, I have watched atleast 40 different series and read a hell of a lot manga as well.
Bah I wish I knew about anime earlier, but on the other hand I guess it's for the best - I spend way to much time watching it...lol..

Since the early 2000's. I first saw DBZ on TV, not realizing then it was an Anime however.

My first anime (while I was AWARE it was an anime was Gundam Seed). I believe that came out in 2004, so I was about 11 years old. Like most kids however, I did watch Pokemon and Cardcaptors. Actually Cardcaptors was my first manga, which I read even before Gundam Seed. I thought it was chinese because Shaoran was chinese, lol.

I began watching anime with most of the basics, pokemon and whatnot, this would be when it first started airing so i assume i was between 4 and 6. I didn't take an active interest in it until a few years ago though so that would have probably been when i was about 14 or so. of course these are all guesses as my memory is horrible when it comes to times and ages.

I started watching anime when I was 6 because my dad was into Saint Seiya. I also saw the typical ones in TV like Dragonball, Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Street Fighter. Back then I still didn't even know about anime and just classified them as being the same as western cartoons.
Later on, watching shows like Zach Bell, MAR, Naruto and One Piece on Channel 10 and Cartoon Network before and after school picked my interest in anime. And after I watched Bleach 3 years ago did I start to watch anime regularly though only these past 2 years have I really started to watch series outside of the shounen demographic (I love shoujo and josei now haha).

I guess I started around the age of 6-7 with watching Digimon and Pokemon, I also started reading manga (Ranma to be specific) at the age of around 8.

Though my anime/manga taste has gone into a different direction than when I was younger, I still kept the joy of watching them :)

Like most people,
I first started out watching anime around mid/late 1990's.
Things like Pokemon, DBZ, Gundam Wing, and all the others that
were broadcasted on good ol' Toonami.

I started to seriously watching anime when I was 12,
with the classic Trigun.
I was so obsessed, I watched the anime, bought the dvds, and read the manga.

Ever since then,
I've watched anime and read manga.

And let me just say this,
you are NEVER too old to watch and enjoy anime/manga.

I started watching anime when Pokemon and digimon first started airing, so I was pretty little. I always loved anime, for as long as I can remember. After I discovered pokemon, I soon moved to Sailor Moon, Yugioh, Card Captors, and Hamtaro (lol) In fourth grade (I was about 9?) I started watching inuyasha, and soon after I started watching Full Metal Alchemist. I have had several breaks from anime, but I do think it will remain a big part of my life <3

My first anime (besides Pokemon/Digimon maybe 2 years prior) was Gundam Wing during it's original Canadian airing on YTV. That was around 2000-2001. I didn't get into serious anime watching until I was around 13 though. So somewhere around 9-10 years?
