Nowhere in the US Constitution does it forbid fictional characters to be elected to public office.

The only requirement is that "citizens must be born in the US".

Those wacky conspiracy theorists and their birth certificates ideas..

What next? Will they accuse Obama of secretly being a sandworm in disguise brought back from the Apollo missions? Abe Lincoln's hat was so tall because it was actually used to cover up his large alien brain?

Obama could have released his long form a long time ago. It would have conflicted with his anti-transparency stance though.
