This thread will be about how to hide stuff on your computer. Really useful if you are a strong believer in computer privacy.

First off here's how to hide a rar file, which can hold anything, inside of a jpeg image file.
[REMOVED]
I didn't write the tutorial or discover how to do it, so kudos to the guy who figured this out and to the guy who wrote the tutorial.

Next up will be how to hide a picture within a picture. This will be a longer tutorial and will require I write the program myself in visual basic. After that's done I'll write up the tutorial for it, as there is no tutorial currently for this technique that I'm aware of.

I haven't hidden anything yet. But I know that there are people out there in the world who have things to hide. Some of them may very well be members of this forum, and may find this information to be very useful.

How can we be for sure you're not hiding something? You could be lying. O_o

Here's an example of someone's EPIC FAIL attempt to hide something on their computer.

or you just hide the entire folder and hide the status bar in your browser.
it may be a noob method but it's really effective unless someone's deliberately trying to find your secret stash

NEVER use firefox's technique to clear your cache. If you do you will find that a simple forensic file recovery software will retrieve the files raw off the disk itself. Remember deleting deletes the filesystem reference to the file, it does NOT reset the magnetic bits on the drive that make the file to binary 0. Use this program instead to clear your internet cache [REMOVED]
After installing it, set to gutmann erasure mode (35pass erasure, compared to military DoD standards, which them selves are only 3 or 7 pass) which is like major overkill, but it makes sure not even the CIA can retrieve that data. Then add to the jobs queue the folder that has your internet cache, and run the erasure. It will make it so not even the top notch secret government agencies will ever find what you erased, and DEFINITELY NO HACKER EVER WILL.

No offense...OK, offense fully intended, but, I'm not trusting any download link by you.

Uh, that's not a download link. It's a website link. The page I linked to is the home page for the software in question, and has info on it. I'd NEVER post a direct download link as that is usually a sign someone is trying to trick you to download malware.

In fact here's a screenshot of the webpage that the link goes to. Look in the URL bar in the browser on the screenshot and see it matches the link I posted.

If you have something that bad that you need to wipe the magnetic bits, in case the FBI shows up, I don't think you need to be on a computer. Though, its not a bad idea if you plan on throwing away a hard drive. In that case you could just take a decent magnet (like a stereo speaker's magnet) to it to render it completely unusable and unreadable.

Cops wouldn't waste time to forensic study your computer unless you give them ample reason to. Like having programs that can do potential harm to idiots or an erasure program, kind of like probable cause, like seeing blood or a spent bullet casing in the seat next to you in a car.

Paranoia is great probable cause, tell-tale heart. Do so much to cover up and you leave a big flashy sign that says watch me, I'm up to something.

Let's face it guys. VG555 here don't want to hold responsible of all the naughty things he had looked up on the Net. He don't want his Pop & Ma caught him red-handed and lose his right to stay in the basement and the connection in the same time. So, he making a scene about it.

Either you man up and tell the truth like an adult or starting living in your own place. The general populace of AF doesn't care about you and your illegal activities.

Hiding secrets into an image file, erasing stuff with Eraser ... what? O_o;;
Kid, when you low-format your hard drive 100 times people can still find your stuff ... *locked*
