Seems like a lot of people believe that eating/using natural products are healthy. Commercials/ads abuse this a lot too.

But really though... cooking is rather unnatural. Only humans do this. And they do so in all cultures. Even so, it's hardly natural.

Same goes for drinking milk after your mother stops giving milk. That's pretty much nature's decision. When the mother stops giving milk, the young ones will have to do without milk. There's lots of other things.

So when you put it all in perspective... Cooking, drinking milk, clothes, etc... while not natural, are good for your health. Of course, this is just living in a natural way... the way nature seems to have intended it. Humans have evolved in such a way, that they can make most products in nature healthy to them.

What are your thoughts about this?

you see, ducthman, the problem is that this issue combines two major fallacies,

Appeals to Heath, and Appeals to Nature.

What is natural, is not always healthy, (ex: drinking water from a river)

What is Healthy, is not always natural (ex: putting on sunblock)

those who equate "natural" and "health" are doing themselves a real disservice.

EDIT: of course if you wanted to take it a step forward you could always state the negations

What is Not natural, isn't always healthy, (ex: Trans-saturated fats)

What is Not healthy, is not always natural, (ex: sleeping on the couch all day)

I know, but it seems a lot of people are a bit ignorant about it. They just seem to not have thought (much) about it. Everyone in developed countries uses tons of unnatural products. Not everything nature gives is health or really good for you. It's good enough to make you survive, but if you live the way nature intended, you'll be dead before 50.

Just look at life expectancies. People in the bronze age were living pretty much as "naturally" as you possibly could. They had a life expectancy of 25.
Today we live very "unnaturally", yet we live three times as long.

DOOM!

As She put it, is it natural to live long? Humans are biodegradable filth who only wish to live long and consume more by tricking nature/death, and, thankfully, they can't do it for long.
