This show has one of my favorite intros. And to me, it's like an Anime classroom version of The Office. Anybody else think so?

I love Lucky Star, even my wallpaper is of Kona-chan. I never seen the office though :(

Frankly, no. I never watched it, but I have seen clips from it in AMV's on Youtube and Nicovideo.

Honestly, I think it's a little too " cutesy ", but that's just my opinion. The intro/outro songs are nice, but the voices grind down on my ears. Not saying it's a bad show, just not one that I'd sit and watch.

It's like Azumanga Daioh except not as funny and more moe.

Man it's a blast. It reminds me alot of how high school went (my senior year at least, which I just graduated), and getting the CD's was just a great idea.

It's not really surprising that people in this thread are guys to be honest, given that that's the target audience (kawaii shoujo doing kawaii things attracts guys rather well).

Me! I like it. Even sometimes they talk nonsense, they are pretty funny. They show reality.

I tried watching it but it was too dull in the beginning so I stalled it. And then later, I decided to continue it just to see the pop culture references and Konata's famous hardcore otakuness. (Not that I'm an otaku myself.) And by episode 10 (I think? The episode in which Konata goes to the Komiket), it started to get amusing, so I finished it.

Overall the show did have its amusing and even hilarious moments... if you can get over staring at still frames, listening to most mundane and irritating dialogues, and a few whole dull episodes. The moe barely worked on me because: 1) I'm not a lolicon, 2) it has strange art, and 3) I had watched K-On before, which makes older moe shows look... lacking on moe.

It's like Azumanga Daioh except not as funny and more moe.
The three series (Azumanga, Lucky Star and K-On) are usually put on the same boat just because the three of them are light-hearted slice of life series with similar character archetypes. However, they are suited for different audiences.

Azumanga is mainly a comedy series, so it suits a general audience. Lucky Star is indeed less funny because it's not mainly a comedy series, but an otaku-oriented lolicon series with comedy. (Not that a non-otaku can't enjoy the comedy.) K-On is even less funny because it was stripped of anything the pitchfork-and-torch equipped nerds would regard as comedy or substance and was filled instead with over-the-top moe in best animation with mountains of heart-warming moments, and nearly nothing else (If you don't count the awesome music). To most K-On fans, it's not just about the moe, though, but about enjoying the moment. If you can't do the latter, the former alone might not make up for the show's lack of said qualities. (As it's seen from moe fans who keep calling K-On "cancer")

(As it's seen from moe fans who keep calling K-On "cancer")I grouped Lucky Star with Azumanga merely because they have a similar style (cute girls doing cool things), not because of any real genre relation - I do find them similar series', even if they are aimed at slightly different audiences, and I feel that Azumanga's laugh out loud moments are more enjoyable over LS' knowledgeable titters. It was a simple comparison, lacking any deeper connotations than 'I like it, but this is better'.

And just to say, whilst I do feel that K-ON! lacks substance outside of the indeed awesome music, I absolutely adore the franchise.

I stopped watching it once too. Since it was coming on tv I started watching it again. Hope it gets interesting at some point. I find the characters really cute.

Lucky Star is what I call "brain gum." You don't have to focus on it all that much. You just pop it into your mouth, like the flavor, and continue what you were doing. It was one of those anime that just helped me relax, or if I just wanted something to watch without having to be so engrossed into it. I did enjoy Konata's hard core otaku self, which is one of the main reasons I watched the show. I feel the exact same way with Azumanga Dioh! even if I never finished that one. <3

in the first episode I almost stop watching Lucky Star immediately because that's my first time to watch an anime with many nonsense conversation but in the second or third episode i noticed that i already liked it because of the real-life related scenes, i found it's cuteness and i always laughing at the four main characters. even if Miyuki is not there frequently, konata and kagami is enough to make me laugh. XD

frankly I love it far better than Azumanga Daioh. (no offence for Azumanga Daioh fans).

I like both Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star, but I like Lucky Star much more. Lucky Star has great characters and I love the Lucky Channel segment at the end of each episode. Those little pieces with Akira Kogami would be enough for me to watch the entire series 20 times. I do watch it over and over again anyway though because it's good light entertainment.

Lucky Star was a very enjoyable watch I just wish there were more anime out there like it.
