This one seems a bit easier than the last one -- although I'm not sure what to do about the fact that a different kanji is used for うたう each time. Maybe that's just one of those things that has to be lost in translation.

There may be mistakes in the translit because I'm, uh, sorta at work right now and am going by memory as to what the song sounds like.

*yea yea, it doesn't matter if it's sore or are since it's pronounced C'est here, but still, let's get it right if you intend to leave in the original Japanese words

*逝く is not a simple alternative kanji for 行く; it's used specifically for the connotation of "to pass away".

As for the four utau in the song. You could preserve the distinctions by specifying:
唄う = to sing a folk song
謡う = to sing a melody
詠う = to compose a poem
詩う = to recite a poem
But is this really necessary...?

Thanks! Looks like I really shouldn't try to transliterate without listening to the song.

>People are born/created... to gather up... "things of beauty"...

Well, that was what I was trying to say with "made" anyway; I didn't mean it literally. I mean, you can say "I was made for XYZ" and have it mean the same thing as "I was born for XYZ", right? But if it sounds weird/looks like I mean "made" in the sense of "forced", I'll switch to "born".

ETA: Also, with the "utau" stuff, I think you're right that it's not necessary; it'd probably just be clunky to explain all the nuances like that.

Yea, I think using "made" sounds too much like "forced" here. Besides, I think the original meaning is really something like, "lives come into being in this world for the purpose of something something". What do you think?

Yeah, I think you're right about the original meaning -- it's just that "people's lives come into being for the purpose of" is a bit of a mouthful. I'm using "born" for the moment because I think it sounds better, but I'm open to suggestions.
