Satoshi Kon director of anime such as “Perfect Blue”, "Tokyo Godfathers", “Millennium Actress”, “Paranoia Agent” and “Paprika” has passed away at the age of 47. While the cause of death is unconfirmed, it is believed to be cancer.

At the time of his passing, Satoshi was working at MADHOUSE on a new film Yume-Miru Kikai.

This is so terrible! I went on a "Kon-kick" a few months back and re-watched all but one of the above-mentioned films/series. Such beautiful, intelligent works...It's very sad to see such a creative force's passing. I'm really curious to know how he died.

Wow... That's really sad.

Paranoia Agent is one of my most recent animes, and it was awesome. Such talent.

According to Tokyo Shimbun news, the official cause of death is Pancreatic Cancer.

This topic is very old. Several threads on the subject were made, including one that hosted his final words to family and friends. Find that if you want to post about it.

And he died of pancreatic cancer, by the way. By the time he found out he had only several months left.
