So, I haven't watched alot of animes. I read mostly manga... but does anyone have any tips to any good annime in general I can watch?

-Not too long (2-3 seasons or something)
-Mostly comedy, with some plot too of course ^^
-Not too serious.
-Preferrably not fantasy, I enjoy reading that as manga :3

Any suggestions?

Well, I really enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Blue Submarine No. 6, Samurai Champloo, Mobile Suit Gundam, and of course Wolf's Rain. Some of these are really short (1 season or 4 episodes like Blue Sub 6).

I'd say just get down the fundementals, or "big" titles and those that mark major points in the history of anime, and get an understanding of the progression of anime; Bibi listed a few. Most are original-anime, not being based on something else - Akira is the exception, though the film is considered a scifi legend.

Mobile Suit Gundam (also known as Gundam 0079) - series 43 episodes
Akira - movie
Ghost in the Shell - movie
Blue Submarine No.6 - movie / OVA series
Neon Genesis Evangelion - 26 episodes, 2 movies ("Death and Rebirth" and "The End of Evangelion")
Cowboy Bebop - 26 episodes
FLCL - 6 episode OVA series
Princess Mononoke - movie
Spirited Away - movie

Some of the shows that stuck with me as I watched anime over the years would include:

Trigun (26 eps and 1 upcoming movie)
Azumanga Daioh (26 eps)
History's Strongest Disciple: Kenichi (50 eps over 2 seasons)
Irresponsible Captain Tylor (26 tv eps and 10 ova eps)
Kaze no Stigma (24 episodes)
Martian Successor Nadesico (26 eps and 1 movie)

These span different generations (as old as 1993 and as recent as 2007) and genres, giving you a decently varied taste of anime.

I enjoyed watching it and you can find all episodes in english in youtube. And if first episode wont make good impression, keep watching. You soon will like it.

All of following anime are no more than 13 episodes unless you intend to watch the subsequent seasons of Arakawa, M+H or Zetsubou.

Angel Beats!
Arakawa Under The Bridge
B Gata H Kei
Kuragehime
Maria+Holic
Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

Arakawa Under the Bridge
Hetalia (short ova episodes, first season Axis Powers has 52 episodes. About 5 min long episodes)
Angel Beats!
Azumanga Daioh
Hatsukoi Limited
Kuragehime
Minami-ke (it has 4 seasons, 13 episodes in each. The 3 siblings it`s about is adorable, the girl in my avatar is one of them)
Mitsudomoe (hillarious, made me laugh so much that the tears wouldn`t stop flowing sometimes xD)
Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi
Seitokai Yakuindomo (the jokes in this is very perverted, the few fanservice scenes in it is censored, and will be censored on the blu-rays too. The creators of this is crazy XD)
Soul Eater (51 episodes)

From the anime that is airing now:
Beelzebub (started last week)
Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? (started last week, will probably only have like 12-13 epsiodes)
Mitsudomoe Zouryouchuu! (second season, will only have 8 episodes)

I think Nodame Cantabile (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4691) fits your bill perfectly. The first season (of 3) is the best offering.

Other good choices would be:

Toradora! (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=5909)
School Rumble (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=2165)
Kannagi (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=5720)
Rec (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=3656)
Ichigo Mashimaro (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=2787)

As a new viewer, you'll want to hold off on series that feature a strong dose of parody, like Lucky Star or Seitokai no Ichizon (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=6556), which would otherwise be good picks for you.

I personally got started with an anime called Maison Ikkoku.

Its not a new anime by any means, but it has a lot of heart and is one of the greats IMO.

Some of the most awesome characters and a great coming of age/slice of life story, that resonated with me and that I could really identify with.
(throughout the series you see the main character grow, going thru various stages of his life from trying to get into college to finding work)

Only thing is that it's not a short anime, but very, very worthwhile.
