Venetian masquerades and carnivale.

If any of you were invited to a masquerade or go to a carnivale, what costume would you choose?

What period and country of dress would you wear?

Which decorative mask would you choose?

Accessory or/and hat/wig to compliment both the mask and dress?

Picture of all or any of the said three will work if you can't describe it or just don't feel like typing too much will be fine.

Strange Seraphim, I was just talking about how my wedding was going to be this dark, Halloween, romantic wedding. But was going to be Masquerade Wedding in a graveyard. We chose Renaissance. And my mask is black with white trim and some odd sparkly jewels on the side of the left eye. Clear white jewels.

What period and country of dress would you wear? 16th century English gown. It would most likely have a square neckline and the sleeves would be flared. The dress would be black with red cuffs and neckline.

Which decorative mask would you choose? something like this

Accessory or/and hat/wig to compliment both the mask and dress? I'd wear a gold circlet to hold my hair.

Hmm, I believe these are modeled after 18th century venice, italy (or at least some of them):

I'd like:

Yellow Panniered Gown

(along with the choker), this mask and this fan.

Oh, and also these earrings and these shoes. My hair would be up and curled (although i'm not sure of the exact style.)

I'd like it to be elegant, nothing super ornate. Also, the gown is gorgeous, but i'd imagine it would be very heavy, hot, and uncomfortable to wear, lol. But I tried to make it all match, because I couldn't find a single picture with everything I liked.

Not yet. I have to get the men all set. And my fiance is going dress shopping. She's found a couple she likes, or so she tells me, but she won't show me nor tell me. So I guess it's surprises all the way.
