i got it where i like it (which means i can't think of anything to change) maybe you guys can tell me if something needs changed.

maybe something more in the bg? i dunno

Mmm i dunno man, i think it needs more work:
1. Extraction looks dirty on the edge, try to work a bit more.
2. The shining blue is not really a good match with the bg
3. I dont know man, the bg isnt my style. so i wont comment on this :P

yeah, on my laptop screen the colors seemed a little different, and the blue was a better fit, but now on a desktop monitor it doesn't seem right. i'm probably gonna change the colors around some. as for the chara edge, his clothes are a little torn and tattered in this image (i think) but i'm gonna smooth up the edges. i also just noticed some things on the bg pic that i hadn't before so i'm gonna fix that, maybe add something to the bg like flower petals or something i dunno yet.

Really not that bad...I would either lose or soften the blue glow though...too pronounced and intense. The bg is pretty good though, just the bottom line thing bothers me. Good effort in any case ^_^

The cutout is bad, the yellow background doesn't fit Kenshin, the blue glow doesn't either, and the picture is kinda weird.
Although, the background pic looks nice and the chalk/charcoal effect looks nice.

it's nice!but i think the contrast of colors between the bg and the character,kenshin don't match!the bg is nice but the colors r a bit dull.

actually,i hope i know what im saying cuz i don't know how to say it!
:lol: whatever it is,i think u should work more on the bg n the mood of that picture(sad,happy,etc.).that's all!honestly,when i look at it,i have no espression(is this correct)coming.so the mood is important!
lastly, hope u didn't take it seriously...sorry!(ps-

ok, i played with it some last night and i think it looks better. i cleaned up the foreground picture and got rid of the glow, and i changed an added some to the bg. i still need to work on the edge of the bg pic and clean that up some more. the "line" at the bottom is supposed to be a sword btw. i'm leaving the old one above so you can compare, here's a link to the new one: http://filebox.vt.edu/users/aales/Wa...s/kenshin2.jpg

strifehunter: STOP posting random nonsense pictures like that in all of your posts! It's annoying, specially when you're using a dial-up 36K modem!

Thanks for pointing that out DD. many people here do use modems and the less images in a thread, the better.

aca: if you edit the first thread, you can replace the old one with the new one. didn't know if you knew.

the new one is nice, but something is still distracting about that background. maybe it's the colors? (perhaps browntones/B&W would be better) maybe it's lacking something? (some sort of scene under the image?)

I like the new wall more than the other one...
The cherry blossoms you should hue them another color (don't tell me cherry blossoms are pink because I know that damn well, I just think that they should be a different color on your wall), also, if you would change the background from blue to red it'd fit more... Even a orangish red would look fine. The text... Change it... I have a font that I think would be cool there... It's called Mandarin... If you want it, just IM me or e-mail me requesting it and I'll send it to you.

i've taken the text out (dd: i got mandarin, i'll see how it looks but i may just leave the text out). and i've changed the bg. check the link in my third post.

pooky: i kinda wanted ppl to be able to see the original so they can see what changed, i didn't want to eat bandwidth so i put a link instead of posting another pic.

Looks better, but there's still something in it... Maybe try to lower the opacity of the background pic of Kenshin... I'm not sure...
