The ending of Samurai Shamploo. They just part ways? That's it? Please discuss your thoughts!!

Yes. That's it. After they all fight, and Fuu fights her father/The Sunflower Samurai, they have no reason to be together any longer, and they go their separate ways.

Well, I figured that they made a great trio. Why not hang around?
It just leaves me wondering if they cross paths again? I am not necessarily referring to a sequel - but more in the imagination...

What do they each do for the remainder of their lives then?

Watanabe says a movie is possible if the anime was well recieved (and it was). So a movie may be made someday (whether it'll take place during the series Cowboy Bebop-style or after remains to be seen).

That was 4 years ago. It's a bit late now, don't you think?

And, that's part of what a good series should be like. It should make you want to think about what would happen after that, and how each of the characters go about their lives. If something does it well enough, like Samurai Champloo did, a sequel isn't even needed. Lest it just become bothersome, and lose the amazing qualities it had as simply a 26 episode series.

It's quite obvious why they didn't stay together: they had accomplished their goal. They no longer had a reason to be together. Jin and Mugen were never actually friends, and I don't think either of them actually gave a damn about Fuu...other than out of a general sense of morality.

The ending was depressing for me. I didn't want it to end, and they just go their separate ways. It really does make you think about how they continued their lives.

I wouldn't say that. They both show that they care about Fuu near the end of the series, such as the night scene with Fuu and Jin, and when Mugen goes to the dilapidated church (it was a church right?) to save her.

Cause it was a more realistic ending, seeing them part ways and all
but i wish it couldve just kept going xD i loved it to much to see it end D:
but i think it was a well suited ending for a lovely series.

I Totally think it was one of the best endings of an anime i've ever seen. I just loved the idea,of them walking on different paths.
They were all completely different,so their paths could not be common

I really didn't want the show to end it was a great show. But I think it was a fitting end.

It was an excellent ending. (I didn't want to see it end. But......). None of them 'died'. None were maimed. None were mentally messed up. Pretty good. Much like life. But you get the feeling some where their paths will indeed cross.

After all their in the same business.

It was a one arc from a studio.Chances are no future plans.Like Xero said a bit late.Then again the new FMA series came a bit late so he could be wrong.

Yes, but in the case of the second FMA season, they're clearly just milking it for all it's worth.

There were lots of hints at how it could end though. Remember that Jin got to liking that prostitute, and that shinobi had her eyes on Mugen.

I was still in awe on how many times Mugen and Jin died in the last couple episodes to worry about that.
