I have pics on set from the Dragon Ball live action movie and it's date of release is April 2009.

Me and my friends are really looking forward to this. Been waiting for a live action film for quite a while. Hope they can pull it off well.

If they had Goku' hair as tall as it was in the show, it'd look silly. I think settling with a shorter height was a smart decision.

I'm really eager to see how Piccolo looks!

Since when did Goku turn into a pretty boy with no muscles?

The good news is they have already butchered DragonBall with GT, so I guess we already expect it.

The bad news is this will now make a public butchering to people who haven't watched the show before.

yeah i see where you're coming from. i'm very excited about this movie but those pictures make it look like a b grade sci-fi channel made for tv movie but i'm still excited anyway and i'll probably go and see it anyways.

Oooo, Chow Yun Fat is in the movie?? 0.0 Cool! I thought Hollywood was going to butcher the movie, but I'll enjoy it regardless! I'm a pretty big DBZ fan, so I'll like it either way.

You guys don't have to worry so much James Wong will do a great job directing the film, trust me, he's good at what he dose.

yeah i have the same fear. think about it: dragonball is just too unique an anime to pull off in real life. i mean how will they do the spirit bomb? sure they can't do goku's normal hair and they know that so the guy who's playing him will just have spikey hair a la yamucha from the anime during the cell saga. but how will his super saiyan hair look now that he has a different hairstyle? plus how will they do the fights? half the characters can move faster than the speed of light and can destroy planets with ease so how will they convey such fantastic fights in real life? i mean cgi can only do so much. i'm not saying it won't be good but i'm not saying that it will either. it'll be a hit or miss if you ask me. but i'll see it either way. hey i liked final fantasy: the spirits within so i should like it(no, you're not seeing things, i really enjoyed that movie)

Dragon ball was more of a comedy when you think about it. So if they're making this movie to be a comedy, it'll capture that aspect.

If it tries to be as suspenseful as DBZ, well you fail, but you still get some laughs.

Thus far....I will still watch it...but.......I dont know..something just doesnt feel right.

Judging from the small indoor arena pic, there isnt going to be a lot of energy blasting or flying around. So basically this is just going to be a below average martial art movie than a real Dragon ball movie

Theres not many live actions based on a anime (or manga) that use the same style of cinematography take Initial D for example they tried but they stayed away from the in car thinking scenes and in deathnote theres no other symbolic demention.
